Moving a villager did not work?

I'm perplexed by this. Yesterday I offered a popular villager (Chrissy) as a giveaway. I've been cycling for a while now and have been involved in AC animal trafficking for a while now p).

Long story short, Chrissy is gone from my town but never arrived in the new town. Wtf? I coached the visitor through what to do and now I'm worried I'm going to receive negative feedback. When he left she had the sign on her house saying she'd moved out, and only then did I TT to the next day (I was picking up Tipper from another town).

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm so annoyed cos I've had a few people ask for Chrissy and now she's just... gone

There could be a few possibilities for this.

One, it did work but the person who got her could have gotten another villager via campsite or streetpass, which overrode Chrissy moving in, therefore, Chrissy is in the void (I think).

Or two, the person needs to TT another day forward before trying to find the plot. I dunno if villagers can move in on holidays. (I think they can put their plot down on a holiday; a cousin was playing through the Harvest Festival and found a new plot.)

If Chrissy didn't move in they probably got another villager from street pass to override Chrissy or they need to go forward a few more days.

Hi I am the intended recipient! When I started up this morning, I checked through my entire town and did not see the plot. So I gave up and went through my daily routines including building snowboys. After failing to make a few perfect snowboys where I reset after each failed attempt, somewhere on the 4th attempt or so, I noticed that the plot had appeared! Sorry about the confusion again.

tl;dr problem resolved after resets!
