May want to be careful trading items v2

Glitch hunters are ravenous, they don't stop until the bone is picked clean. Once the method is leaked, people can report it to Nintendo.

The only issue is its never going to be truly fixed, as people with physical copies can just delete patch data and abuse the glitches still.

Oh man.... I'm hoppin on this so hard with bait. I'll pretend it's the batch-crafting feature =P

I wonder if the existence of this glitch will make people see less of a point to selling their villagers or turnip access for nmt? At the very least, those motivated to sell will maybe stop complaining about 2-ticket entry fees lol.

v1.2.0 has upgraded everyone's save when first loaded. AFAIK, you can't cherry pick patches to delete, so you delete all or nothing. Because of the save upgrading with the release of v1.2.0, going back to v1.0.0 should cause your game to show up as corrupted or something similar, and you'll need to start over. This won't stop everyone, but should stop those who wish to keep their current save.

Isn't it good in a way if NMTs can be duplicated? Everyone seems to be complaining about them having gained such value. If they can easily be duplicated, 1k+ auctions won't make sense anymore? I haven't heard of that method so I don't know how it works but I mean...
People desperate for NMTs/villagers will have a way to deal with that, and people just wishing for normal trading should hopefully be able to go back to that without everyone asking specifically for NMTs, right...? 🤞

To go along with what some were saying about inflation, part of the reason prices are as high as they are now is because of hackers inserting a ton of NMTs into their game. Yes, some of the NMTs on the online trading market are legitimate ones purchased with actual Nook Miles. But probably a large percentage of the NMTs on the online trading market were inserted into the game. You can honestly blame the hundreds of NMTs prices for things like Raymond on that already.

So yeah, this will just make prices go up. That means that if you don't duplicate, hack, or trade for bulk NMTs, then you will probably never be able to afford Raymond normally unless you get into one of the previously mentioned things. It's just making a bad cycle.

But the potential glitch, if not game breaking, could be accessed by everyone, not just someone open to hack their switch.

If just a few, the hackers in this case, want to risk their games and get NMTs, the prices will go up because just a few are increasing and increasing the amount of NMTs in circulation, but if everyone can do it, why bother asking for NMTs of other people?

This is all under the assumption the dup glitch is not game breaking and easy to use, of course

Ah, right... totally forgot about that.

even if Nintendo patched this, it's probably already too late. people can just hold off on downloading the patch and dupe as much as they want. idk if the economy can come back from this.

I'm of two minds about this. on the one hand, it sucks that people's hard earned NMTs are now worthless (yes, most of them were probably injected-- but people still earned them by hosting visits or trading villagers or whatever), and if they were saving up to buy Raymond or anything else they're now screwed due to inflation. on the other hand, this could encourage people to turn the economy from a capitalism-based one into one where people just share their resources (but that's probably wishful thinking on my part...).

I'm honestly surprised that the campsite method hasn't tanked Raymond's price even a little bit. I mean, you can get him for free, you just need to time travel. I know it can be time consuming, but you'd think it would've at least made a dent on his price

Quick question, if i receive something that has been duplicated (without me knowing), will that add a problem to my game?

I'm surprised too. I don't currently TT, but if I get that desperate for Raymond and am sick of island hopping, I would definitely use the campsite method. I'd figure others would be in that same position, because it's not like everyone has hundreds of NMTs. If you're not a hacker, you either need to trade for bulk NMTs or duplicate, and duplicating is risky.

No. It's only risky for the actual person doing the duplicating.

Maybe not that many people know about the campsite method, and that would explain this. Either that or the number of people who refuse to TT is bigger than I thought.

And yeah, I don't see it as a problem unless it can harm people's games. Also don't think this means there will be a higher inflation. If it's something that anyone can do, without any bad side-effects, people will just clone whatever they want and share with others for free. It ironically would be a return to the true spirit of the game, as AC was never about having a capitalist economy, in the first place so, if that thing is coming to an end, good riddance.

Also, NMTs will drop in value because everyone can have them normally. If anyone can freely duplicate them, that means there's no reason to even engage in that stupid villager market, because the campsite method is a thing and infinite NMTs means infinite island hopping.

I honestly, don't know how ninendo managed to do this one.

I'm... somewhat baffled that it works, really. (I haven't tried it myself and don't plan to, but I'm just surprised this hole even existed)

Regarding the campsite method, let's not forget that if you already have one smug you don't want to part with, you can't use it. Might not be the case for a huge percentage of people looking for Raymond, but still...

Duplication methods are present in every single entry in the AC series except for Pocket Camp. If anything, I would be surprised if it wasn't a thing in NH, especially with all these hacked switches out there.

well, with hacked switches/games you could practically inject whatever you wanted, so I don't think there's a way to stop that. I'm just surprised there's so many things that are possible without hacking it.

No, that means inflation.
1k NMT will become 2k to 5k or maybe go 10k NMT per dreamie depending on the severity of the duplication's effect.

I've been in a virtual dressup site that literally has near-similarity to Venezuelan bolivars value due to the oversaturation of currency. Both paid currency and free currency.
can't wait for the rest of us to get punished for not duping nmt. :/ there's no way for someone to organically have that many nmt's i feel.

(also are you talking about gaia online bc GOD that was (and is) a ****show)

there's gonna be a limit on how much NMTs actually matter, in the end (my opinion). valuable/rare items are probably gonna be the new norm for trading. :/

cant wait for mush lamp diys to be the new trading currency. w h e e p (but prolly gold roses if we're being real here)
