I've got Al in my town he's a pleasant sort but with out time travelling if I report him as troublesome, how long will it take to weed him out? Do more than one player character have to complain needlessly about him? I've never removed a character before, is it a simple process?

Oh...oh boy.
Getting a villager out is a VERY tedious process! Reporting them won't do anything at all-if anything they'll probably just want to stay even more to prove their worth!
You see, the game has a system in place whereby the more a villager likes you, the more chance they'll have to ping you for their notice of absence. It's sad really, but it looks like you're gonna need to do more errands for him!
Time travelling is your best bet for now if you don't want to be his slave. Two days forward, two days back seems to do the trick for me when I'm desperate (though if you're feeling risky, five days is a bit more successful).Good luck! (I don't like Al that much either xD)

Thank you I can't risk loosing my preferred residants so by I guess they'd be the first to dessert..... So I'll go give him a shave or something.......thanks

Haha, you'll be relieved once his plot's gone!

Is Al your 10th villager? How many other villagers are you interested in keeping?
These guides here should be very helpful to you, if you just have one Al that needs to be weed out:
(I've used it myself and it works perfectly fine)

But if you do not care for any of your villagers, and it doesn't matter who's in boxes, then use this:

And here's a handy reference guide on helping to determine if anyone's thinking of moving:

Good luck! C:

as long as it isnt the 10th villager, if you know tricks to get rid of them it can be done in under an hour.

I found that If I make all of my other characters meet the villager when they first move in and then just ignore them after that it doesn't take long but who knows if that works but it took no time to get lolly moved out just recently
