In Japanese folklore the Kappa are mischievous water spirits who drown their victims and steal their soul. Ya'll might wanna think twice before hopping in that boat with Kapp'n to the island...

I'm sure that, if supplied with enough cucumbers, Kapp'n won't try to eat anyone's soul or liver.

Actually.... My mayor is a girl and he always waits until we're in the middle of the ocean to make a comment about how nice my hair smells, or how I'm too cute to be a mayor. One time he asked if I had anybody back home waiting for me. OO It all makes sense now!

but yeah that's a thing, I'm not sure if he's hitting on me or just taking me in as prey ;-; they're usually children as well, but judging from the fact he isn't that bad of a guy in previous games i'm hoping he's just flattering me.
