do you guys ever make bells the "old fashioned way"?
everyone nowadays uses duplicating, turnips,the bugs on the island and the perfect fruits
but im talking about OLD FASHIONED
what i mean is, just catching fish off the river and making money
or perhaps shaking all the fruits off their trees to sell to reese
heck, maybe you loving diving and go there every so often
what's your preferred technique of making money?

Ah, not anymore. Nowadays I just sell some rare item or accept bells from friends.
I did happen to sell some perfect pears the other day, but I didn't make as much as I thought I would...

i sell my ore on the Re-Tail marketplace. not really sure if that counts as old fashioned or not.

I make my Bells catching bugs and fish, selling ore, fossils and items, hitting the money rock and collecting interest from the post office. I don't bother with turnips, but that's considered as "old-fashioned" as catching bugs. I mean, the Stalk Market has been around for ages and is a perfectly legit way of earning Bells.

i guess what i mean by "old fashioned" is something along the lines of
a simple, cheap easy way to make bells
turnips can require steakouts, due to the patterns they undergo
perfect fruit is a little bit easier, but if you want to make the big money, your gonna have to sell it when its on premium in another players town
and the bugs on the island can be quite time consuming, filling your inventory with bugs and putting them in the basket can be around 20-30 mins
but catching fish, bugs and picking every rock with your shovel isnt as hard and time consuming

Hitting rocks, selling fossils, waiting for ReTail to buy perfect fruits before my storage gets full. The usual.
I used to go to the island to make the big bucks, but it was really tedious - I'm happy I've found this forum.

I love the old fashioned ways, I'm a veteran of Wild World so I use the sea and river and fossils and fruit and seashells. But sometimes the new ways like the island are also useful and handy for making plenty of cash in a short amount of time

I still do that but I'm not a big spender. So, my bells have accumulated over the past two years. Also, with it being in the ABD, I get the monthly interest. I'm pretty set on bells right now. I just fish/catch bugs/dive for badges.
