I'm also not a big fan of jocks. Design-wise, I think my favourites are Antonio, Bill, Billy, Boots, Dom (eh, kinda), Drift, Kevin (kinda), Kid Cat, Lyman, Peck, Pierce, Roald, Rudy and Sly (kinda). I'm just not sure which of them I'd like to have most on my island.
Listing all of these makes me think I might be able to pick one I actually will grow fond of but I'm not too sure. I do know for sure that Uchi villagers are hard af for me to pick from. I always go with Phoebe but it's honestly only because she's the only one whose design I even kind of like.
Hamlet is one of my original starting islanders and he's slowly growing on me. I also currently have Rowan on my island but I'm not a big fan of him to be honest. Dunno what it is but neither of them are really my cup of tea.
I must admit that watching Hamlet (and Apple) running around on the island is endearing, though.
I also don't like most of the jocks, especially in this game. It seems like they're unable to talk about anything other than their muscles and workouts and that gets old real fast. That being said, I've always loved Scoot so I'd recommend him!
i don't like the personality either, but design-wise i would go with genji! sprocket's design has also grown on me since he was one of my starter villagers, but he's not for everyone.
My absolute favorite jock is Antonio, I know the anteaters aren't very popular but he's super cute and has beautiful patterns. (like a real anteater!)
My other favorites are Hamlet, Genji, Rudy, Lyman, Boone, etc.. I like a lot of them tbh.
I love jocks! Although I will say their dialogue in this game isn't as great as it is in other games. My favorites are Bam and Rowan. Rowan's house looks nice in this game, too. I decorated around it with bamboo and orange lilies and I think it turned out pretty okay.
Aside from those two, I also like Rudy (he was my starting jock and he's adorable), Genji, and Teddy.
Dom is one of the cutest villagers I’ve ever had, he doesn’t even look like a jock which makes me love him even more. Seeing this fluffy little pink sheep with sparkly eyes talk about muscles is a lot more bearable than hearing it from most others. He was a starting villager and I’m keeping him forever for sure.
My other favorites are Bam and Kid Cat, both of which are also adorable. Bam with his cool antlers and cute freckles, Kid Cat with his “:3” face and super hero outfit.
Not a fan as jocks as well but Sterling I grew very attached to. He was my starter jock and the Knight aesthetic is cool ngl. He just looks hella goofy for a jock that I didn't even mind his personality.
Not a fan of Dom being a jock (or kinda in general) but if you're going for cute looks that'll cancel out the jock-ness then I'd pick Dom.

I feel the same way about jocks, but Buck (my original Jock) has grown on me and I've come to be quite fond of him. His design is nothing special, but a few people have asked why he always looks angry which is quite endearing! I don't know who my jock will be and if I will keep Zucker as my lazy (but I like a lot more lazies than jocks). I wish Tarou the wolf was still in the game and Dobie was still lazy. Would make my town much easier to plan! Dom is pretty cute though.
I used to have Sterling in NL and I did happen to find him on an island once, but I decided to go with Roald (since I had already invited him via amiibo). He's a pretty cool guy; loved his design and home in that game.
I'm not sure what kind of appearance/aesthetic you're into, but if you want to go with someone cute I can't recommend Roald enough. The inside of his house in NH is pretty unique too.
Rudy and his dopey smiley face is my personal jock favorite. Aside from him, I’ve had Billy and he’s alright. I’ve also had Dom and he was cool too. In NL which I played a lot, I’ve had Scoot, Kid Cat, Stinky, Poncho among others and they were all cute as well.
I've never liked jock personality either, although I let Leonardo live in my town for a while in New Leaf.
Dom was my starter for Horizons, and I do adore him. I think part if it is that I can't take him seriously as a jock. I just find it kind of endearing that he thinks he's a big strong sheepie, when the most he works out is airplaning around the plaza (I know everyone calls it the Naruto run, but since his arms are so short I've always just seen him as trying to be an airplane).
While the muscle talk does get old Genji can talk to me about it all day and I wouldn't be mad. I love when he talks to me about it. But Boots sigh he's just mad annoying....
