Jack question

I feel so dumb for asking this question... but why won't Jack appear in my town? I can't find the requirements anywhere. ; ;

He only shows up in your town during the first week of October, if I recall correctly. If you missed him then, you won't see him until Halloween.

I didn't do the first week of Oct last year and still met Jack on Halloween. You'll be fine.

You will still totally be able to work for him. You may get a letter closer to Halloween If not, he will meet up with you Halloween night and he will instruct you then and if you give him candy, gives you the option of taking a gift *or* a mask to scare villagers.
