I have about 60k points just laying around still to be fair, unless youve spent them on an insane amount of NMTs most people should have a pretty comfortable amount just sitting there...

Yeah, it's a big Nook Miles sink. And this is only counting the furniture we know about, and only if we buy 1 of each item.
I don't think there's a need to grind Nook Miles, they'll come naturally and you won't feel burnout by feeling pressured to get as many as possible.

There is an advantage to getting bored with villager hunting after about 5 NMTs.

Yeah, I get that, I still only buy them when I actually need em, like 2-3 at a time. I just wanted to save up on storage space, but now that we have expended storage coming too...I think I have enough right now, but I did blow through a lot on NMTs a while back because I didn't anticipate having any other use for them

Oh thank you for posting this I think I had around 60 000 something so I better get to work collecting more 
specially since we wont have more updates sadly. Thats why i am going to enjoy the update as it comes without rushing

I currently have just under 60k NMTs, so I think I'll be ok, considering I'll eventually get more miles while playing the game. Or at least, that's what I want to believe lol

Frankly, I'm glad to have some new stuff to spend Nook Miles on. And I like Kapp'n as a new "sink" for them. I buy NMTs on here and have got about 200k saved up (and I haven't even been trying to earn them, lol) so I feel pretty comfortable! I'm especially glad I've got a bunch saved up 'cause I'm gonna make a killer carnival area near my museum~ I moved some villager houses yesterday just to make space!
Oh, that's actually pretty small. I'm not rich as others, I only have 400k or so. Either way, I'm gonna enjoy this update slowly, so no rush for me.
