Is this normal? Or am I just REALLY unlucky?

I spent a pretty good chunk of time last night setting this up for an incoming villager; first time I've ever tried planning anything like this, and was pretty pleased with myself!


But upon looping around to the other side of the river...



WHY

Like. Did I miss a spot?? Does the game just not care about the work I did?? Super bummed!! Now I'm gonna have to wait several more days to try and cycle this villager back around. :C

Yep, you probably forgot to cover a 3x3 spot. I recommend doing the reset trick to be completely safe next time.

Bah. Yeah, I'm kinda leaning towards that same conclusion.

I'm not sure what that trick is -- Unless it's that thing where you load up a non-mayor character first? I've only got the one character, heh. :B

You don't need to use a permanent character, it will only work if you create a brand new one anyway and then you can delete them straight afterwards. Is time consuming but it does save a lot of hassle

I think when laying down the spots, trees are your biggest enemies. I covered my whole town but trees gave the illusion of filled space so I was always missing 3x3 spots. I ended up cutting down most for my sake and re-coating my town.
