Is it just me or do villagers ask for requests a lot more in NL than NH?

I haven't played NL for like 2 years and I recently started logging on again and every single time I get at least 3 villager requests such as catching bugs, getting them fruits or giving an item to someone else despite my friendship level being pretty low since I haven't been on for years.

I'm not getting that many requests in NH even though I have a good friendship level with quite a few of my villagers. I was also wondering if villagers in NH can invite u to their house and allow u to buy items from their house like in NL? I always thought that was cool.

Finally, I've also noticed that villagers ask to leave waaay less in NH than NL, which is annoying if ur trying to kick a villager out (although it's good that they can't just randomly move out anymore, rip Stitches, Ankha, Maple, Goldie, Julian and Marcie ).

Definitely not just you! I’m lucky if I get a request every few days where as NL I felt like there was at least a couple a day. I really miss fulfilling requests for villagers.

Villagers asking to leave is definitely less frequent too. I like that they can’t leave without asking you though!

When I first played New Horizons, I wasn't sure why the villagers wouldn't ask me for some kind of help. Then they began to over time, but it's not very often. That was one of the things I liked about the older Animal Crossing games. I enjoyed having the option to ask if they wanted help on the GameCube version. That was removed for whatever reason. I don't mind them coming up and trying to have a conversation or teaching reactions, either. I do wish they were more interactive.

I'm lucky if I get a single request daily. On top of that, it's usually a "catch a random bug/fish and let me destroy my house with it!" request, so I usually deny them their bugs or fish lol. There used to be more variety in NL, yes. I hope they gradually bring more requests to the pool.

yeah I also rarely ever get requests, and I felt like in NL I couldn't take two steps without someone coming up to me and asking for a bug or fish. im kind of glad though, because I didn't like how villagers in NL would end up with 3+ fish/bugs in their house, but at the same time I kind of miss that type of interaction with villagers. I also really hope in the future they will be able to come over my house, because that was really fun in NL!

I get maybe 1-2 requests a day, and it's usually only ask me to buy their terrible clothes for inflated prices. I feel like I'm in a MLM tbh

Yeah, requests were a daily thing for me in NL. I think they toned them down a bit so they dont become boring, but having the option to ask a villager to give you a task would have been better, imo. and what about an option to ask your villagers to play games like the treasure hunt with you? they can make it only appear after you reach a certain level of friendship if they dont want you to have it right away.

I don't think I've done any requests for my villagers. On the other hand, I remember them being a fairly common occurrence in New Leaf. To be honest, I don't see it as that big of a deal; I'm more sad about the loss of things like Shrunk, Brewster's Coffee, and multiple Nook's upgrades.

I am also having a lack of requests from my villagers which is a total bummer. They seem less interactive compared to New Leaf. We can't even have them over to our houses or be invited to theirs it seems which was one of my favorite thing to do in New Leaf. And the only time I ever get requests from my villagers is to catch bugs or fish and they use it to decorate their homes with *cries* Nintendo needs to give Isabelle an option to complain about their house so we can take those fishes and bugs away

Oh, I also really miss the hide and seek games from NL! I haven't been asked to participate in a treasure hunt yet :/

I really miss the jobs from the GCN version where they would ask you to go retrieve some non-displayable knick-knack from another villager instead of asking for something ugly like a wharf roach or a horse mackerel that you know is going to get put up in their house. The lost item mechanic around town is just so infrequent.

Yeah, I've only found 2 lost items since starting NH and no villagers have asked me to give or return items to someone else :/ I also miss the requests where some villagers would ask you to fetch another villager to their house, and then you can get that villager they want to follow you around everywhere!

Compared to NL, villagers in NH ask less now. I just noticed it before, but it’s less tedious because in NL, one of my villagers asked for 4 requests in one day.

it’s not just you - they ask a lot less frequently now, especially with the fruit and petition requests not being a thing anymore ;u;

Yeah I rarely ever get requests either. I feel like I've only ever gotten 3 and I've been playing since release. And a couple of them have only been after I talked to the villager a couple times in a row.

You're not alone! I opened up my New Leaf town again yesterday and I already had a couple of favours to do despite not playing it for at least a week. If you think about it, you're basically their servants to do the work for them lol. In New Horizons, they reduced the frequency significantly, but I have yet to have someone visit my house after two months of playing this game.

I've found some will ask for a request if you talk to them several times in a row. Just yesterday I think, I spoke to Filbert 3 times, he talked about his favourite food and other lazy topics. The 4th time I spoke to him, he asked me to return a book to someone. Same thing has happened with Bob.

Dom is the only villager I've had who wanted to do treasure hunts, but quite rarely.

I probably get one to three requests a day but they're always to buy their clothes. Got 3 treasure hunts for far since release, and I always deny the fish/bug ones but I'm pretty sure I didn't get that many. And I can't wait till they can come over, I'm not even bothering with my house interior until then haha

I've been playing since launch with 300+ hours into the game and probably got a total of 5 requests.

(Edit: this doesn't include things like buying bugs/fish from me or gifting me clothes but tasks like returning items, treasure hunts, etc.).
