I have some villagers that I want to reach max friendship levels with but I am unsure how it works in NL versus NH.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hello! There are a few guides online but it really just boils down to some basic tips that I'll list here :)

  • Speak to your villagers each day.
  • When you can, send letters. Letters with perfect grammar and a gift such as perfect fruit yield more points and a better response.
  • Finish the various errands that villagers frequently request. You get more friendship points if you give perfect fruit when they ask for fruit, a highly-valuable bug / beetle when they ask for an insect, or a refurbished item if asking for furniture.
  • Compliment them at the end of house visits.
  • Agree with them during multi-villager conversations.

These are some super simple things that I can remember off the top-of-my-head!

Thank you for this! I have been struggling for so long. </3

If you want to know what level they are at also, use the megaphone. If you call out their name they have 3 levels of responses. They either look around confused, greet and wave, or get super excited and wave.

Also if they are sitting on a bench and you sit with them they'll get a big grin if they have good friendship. It's really cute! Oh but don't use the megaphone right near them or they'll get upset/angry cause you just screamed in their ear 😅
