is it a trend to 'litter' your town now?

i've been dreaming a lot of towns lately, both hacked and non-hacked and what i noticed is that most of them have something in common and that is to 'litter'' their town. i see eggs, gyroids, insect cases, shells, tool boxes and what nots on ground literally everywhere. while i admit its aesthetic but some are just plain annoying to see. many players are literally littering their towns and im tired of seeing those.

I've been noticing that as well. I don't care for it, as it makes the town feel junk and ruins the aesthetic. Unless, of course, it is meant to be an apocalyptic town or something, but for the most part, I notice this happen in otherwise lovely, well-landscaped towns. I hate it.

well u can come to my town. its pretty and not littered at all lol

I’ve noticed this too and I’m glad I’m not the only one irritated by it! I don’t mind stuff on the floor it its adding to the look. For example, I went to one town that had littl griods placed around the town in flower beds or under trees. It was fairy themed so I guess they were suppose to little fairies or pixies. But towns that just drop random items everywhere just look so bad. :(

Iirc I have 3 fruit baskets, 1 dud ticket, 6 presents on ground. I think they complete my town and doesn't look littered at all. One more "trash" and my town is not perfect anymore though lol But yeah I've also seen some towns with excessive litter, it's kind of common

Does leaving wrapped gifts on the floor around the town plaza and the bridges for dream addresses count? Because that’s what I do

I don’t think presents count (because I love to find them when dreaming). But If you’ve just got 8 million presents strewn about randomly, it can be a little much.

i think sometimes people do it because it's another way of customizing your town, and for people who play a lot the new trend and new idea to use litter is going to be popular. i always worry about litter and don't leave anything on the ground, but fossils on the ramps to the beach and fruit baskets always look really nice

for random presents, i find it hard to enjoy those sometimes. i wander all over looking for them and then even still i don't find them until i cut down some of the trees in the dream towns

They do. Everything on ground or underground counts as trash except for mushrooms, unappraised fossils, gyroids (only when buried), fruits (not fruit baskets or perfect or rotten fruits). Also, I found out there's a limit for litter before losing perfect town status. As I said earlier, I'm currently fine with 10 litter objects, tried to leave one more and litter complaints started. So a few gifts wouldn't hurt, try it out

To be honest, I really don't like how most hack towns be throwing all that stuff (signature sheets, the lost items, cans, tires, the trash boot, the ores, trees, brushes and even PWPs!) into the river.

I do leave out some items for dreamers.

My town used to be terrible. I hated it. I had no paths and whenever my inventory was full I just dropped something on the ground. Whether it was furniture, clothes, shoes, stationary or fruit or anything! My town was an absolute mess. Then one day I decided that I would take all my crap to retail and enact the beautiful ordinance. I put pretty paths down and asked for flowers on TBT. Now my town is almost finished. I still can't believe I changed my ways. I haven't dreamed of any littered towns though. I normally always dream of random ones that Luna said. All they have is a town that looks like it hasn't been touched since the first day. Just fruit trees of one kind and some really bad custom designs chucked on the ground.

I don't do DA much but the ones that I have were always pathed with a ton of gifts wrapped everywhere. I opened one or two and then I had my fill because it was overwhelming and then I lost my interest.

I hate litter so much I literally nuke my town and spam it with flowers so no places of junk or whatever is left.
I hate pitfalls and buried fossils too.

I didn't even notice that this is even a trend! And I'll say that I'm guilty of doing this. Whenever I get a fossil to be assessed, I just dump them in my beach for the purpose of completing them and turning them into small figures. I'm not sure if burying things count as well, but I do that to a lot of gyroids by the beach and they're all up against the wall.

For anyone who does like to litter their towns for decoration, can you please explain why you think it looks good? Not trying to be rude; I want to understand. I might just be missing something.

i can't stand the litter in my own town, so i've got no idea of why someone would do that. though most hacked towns are sooo slow and so hard for me to navigate as they're really overwhelming, so i don't really visit anyone anymore.

^^^

i hate bumping into things so much it feels like my hands are being put in cheese graters and hacked towns and very popular dream towns it's nothing but bumping into things. sometimes i will go to dream towns that are full like that and chop down every tree and bush so i feel like i can breathe

I saw such towns which are littered with stuff often and I mean if you don't overdo it by putting
items everywhere, then it's fine. However, litter the town too much doesn't look so good in my
opinion. At least the town then feels like overloaded somehow. I for myself don't litter my town,
it's just not my thing.
