Is buying an iPad worth it?

Don't bother with an iPad. Too big and tablets are better. Sheesh I remember trying to play flappy bird on massive iPad air.

By "Tablets" do you mean android tablets? An iPad is a tablet too yknow... I'm sorry just a pet peeve of mine ._.

And android won't be better for everyone.... Everyone looks for a slightly different experience when looking at a device. I was looking for a smartphone, got a galaxy s4, and have discovered that I just don't like android. I never use my phone and I always use my iPad because it just works better for what I want to use it for... And an iPhone vs an Android phone would be the same. I just, for whatever reason, like the experience better. The customization is great! But it just feels clunky to me and it just isn't essential like it seemed to be before I chose my GS4.

And with the thing where "The tablet is too big" that is why you would save 100$ and get an iPad Mini with Retina Display for the same specs but a smaller screen, then it wouldn't be too big... No, it doesn't have as good color gamut as the iPad Air, but you usually don't notice it unless you are comparing it side by side, saying this from experience, (Using retina mini atm).

And to be honest I don't see why playing flappy bird would be harder on a bigger screen...?

You say iPads are too big when the Nexus 10 has an even bigger screen teehee ^_^

Sry for getting off topic ._.

Our school gave us all free iPads for "schoolwork"
in reality we snapchat and play games all day.
if you give 400 high school kids an iPad what the hell do you think they will do with it. Kids actually got in trouble for selling them for a profit XD

Wow to be honest, your school is stupid for not putting restrictions on those iPads.... Lol

Ours are bad, we have no iTunes Store, no App Store, no iMessage, there is an internet filter EVERYWHERE (not just at schools wifi) tracking profiles that will notify the school when deleted, and yeah. If we sold a school iPad they probably would make us buy a new one for the school plus like a lot of suspensions...

I don't use the school iPad tho I got our textbook on my personal iPad so I don't need to deal with all my internet searches being tracked and blocked, and being locked out of 90% of the features on there.

Unless you're gonna use it for internet when you don't have a cpu or read stuff on it, no. Don't get it for gaming.

Don't waist your money instead buy a Nexus!

I would say that it won't be worth it if you only use it for games. Consoles dedicated for gaming are a lot cheaper. But if you plan to use it for other things as well such as using it to browse internet, check email, and utilize other features and apps to do things then it would be worth it.

Don't buy it for games. It is great for web searching and all. I have one myself, but please, don't buy it for the sake of the games, it isn't worth otherwise.

Not for games, but just in general, it really is worth it. Especially the iPad mini, I'm surprised at how cheap it is compared to other apple items.

I have an ipad! I love it use to little bits of research and stuff! Easy to transport around as well!

I'm thinking of saving up for an iPad. I'd like a DS emulator, and some good games that my iPod can't run. Also, it seems really good for YouTube and reading.

I suppose getting one depends on whether you'll use it or not. I use mine pretty much everyday (using it right now) because it's really convenient since my laptop is slow and crappy plus it only takes a few seconds to switch on. I don't really use mine for games although I have several games on it and apart from the few I regularly play the others are only for when I get bored. If you're only looking to get one for games it probably isn't worth it. I'd suggest borrowing someone else's or using someone else's and seeing if there's several games you like first that would make you want one. If you can't find any games you like on it and simply have no other use for it then I wouldn't get one~

An Ipad IS a tablet, genius

I'm saving up for one, as a friend brought an Ipad Air in on Toy Day at my school and WOW, everyone loved it! It was so cool, she let us download games and play on them! [but then she made us delete them xD]

My school lets us use Ipad Mini's for schoolwork
In my opinion, too small. But most of the time we just play while the teacher blabbers on about Greek Gods and stuff like that. Then, once we finish the work, we're allowed to play Toca Kitchen [srsly is fun]
IMO, Buy it!

Why buy a toy? Buy a useful tool like a laptop computer and don't waste your money on an ifad.

You sound like a 80 year old talking about technology. A "fad".... Lol are televisions and computers from 1995 going to come back into circulation anytime soon? Gee, I sure hope so!

I have one from when they first came out. Now no apps will download because they only work on new iOS and that only works with the newer ipads...so it's basically useless now T_T

I don't know if someone's said this already, probably has, but the camera really sucks on the iPad, if you're going to use the camera. And everyone's saying it, the gaming on iPad is pretty bad.

Nah.
I used to own a iPad and it sucked. Gaming was hard (Big screen) Camera was crap. If you are really that desperate try a iPad air. I've heard only good things about it. But I use a Hudl. A android tablet by Tesco (A supermarket chain in the UK, horsemeat scandal) and its quite good.

Just for gaming? No. I use my ipad for school purpose mainly but then it just happens that it also work nicely as an entertainment device. Oh and I almost never play the IOS games
