Could you explain your perspective to me? I'm really curious!
I definitely have favourite fruit (oranges, apples, peaches) and a least favourite fruit (pears). To me, the best outcome is if my native fruit is a fruit I don't mind but not my absolute favourite, because then I can get my favourite fruit and plant it all over my island for $$$. So there are 3-4 fruits I'm happy to have as my native fruit, but I'm not aiming for a specific fruit. However, I notice it seems really important to a lot of people here, and I want to understand!
But I'm kind of old-fashioned, foreign fruit isn't the best way to make money any more, just one source of income...
So what's the appeal?
Is it because of the passport? (I love having oranges on my passports, but I hate not being able to plant more orange trees without shorting myself of bells.) Is it because you don't play online? Is it for roleplaying/flavour reasons (this is super compelling to me, it feels like an important part of my town that oranges are native to it - and the villagers reference your native fruit)? Or something else?
