I'm just curious where you got the inspiration for your island-- name, setup, aesthetic, etc.

The name of my island is Hyrule so that is obvious but I have named my island that since the first game came out. I have used Pinterest and YouTube tours to get inspiration but really only bits and pieces here and there.

How about you?

The name of my island is Borahae which means "I purple you." BTS always says it to their fans as their special way of saying they love us (rough quote is something along the lines of purple is the last color of the rainbow and they will love us until the last moment/end). It's comforting and I thought it would be fitting. I'm trying to go for a fairy/natural aesthetic, but I'm also trying to incorporate lots of moons and stars because I love space. (I'm also lame and trying to make little references to all my BTS favorite songs/MVs, but it's hard, lol.)

i got my island name (axolotl) from @sierra’s “island names for sale” thread - my island name was originally going to be apricity but i fell in love with axolotl and went with that aha. as for the setup of my island, i haven’t really gotten inspiration from anyone - i’ve mainly just done things that i personally like and went from there aha

The axolotl is one of mother nature's most adorable creations!

I've also found that going a section at a time is super useful!

I live on Kudzu.

I was trying to think of something wild and natural, and that I hadn't used before. I've had more serious names in the past, of great fantasy kingdoms or such (Arcadia, Avalon, also a few Hyrules ).

But I had a feeling this would be a different experience, and my approach to AC has calmed and slowed a lot since NL. Kudzu grows over e v e r y t h i n g where I'm from and I have major nostalgia for it. It's beautiful and untamed, but also has an edge I like? I often go with Saturday or Sunshine for farming sims, and that's a bit too cutesy. Kudzu is a pretty aggressive plant.

My biggest regret: not going with Kudzu Isle. I had room. I was worried I'd get a lot of "welcome to Kudzu Isle Island!" Type dialogue, but it turns out it would have been fine T_T

I came up with my town name by myself. I don't really know what theme my town has. I personally don't want to confine my designing capabilities to a specific theme. Maybe it does fall under a theme and I'm just not realizing it! In terms of design inspiration, I usually just hear an idea from either a YouTube video or on here and I interpret it. Sometimes I take visual inspiration. I did this for my plaza and shopping area. However, I also make sure to add my own charm to it.

Just did some reading on Kudzu and I love the idea you have behind it! As invasive as it is, it's absolutely beautiful. I'm Pagan and there are lots of magical uses for it as well like determination, strength, fortitude, fidelity, sustenance, fertility, and virility. It's also used in spells that improve luck in games of chance so maybe it will help with your RNG! Lol

The name of my island is Crescentia, originally was planning on naming it Celestia or Lumiere but I thought of thinking of a more unique one so that I won't have too many islands that has the same name as mine, so I just combined Crescent and Celestia then voila, I came up with Crescentia, I liked the sound of it and very fitting to the theme I have in mind (kinda fairycore/cottagecore/celestial themed island, a lot of themes I know but I'll try to make it work and mesh it all together lol)...

My island is called Taiga Cove, inspired by an anime! The theme is a Japanese mountain town, I felt like it fit my name and would look nice. I got a little inspiration from YouTube and other islands that I've visited, and worked from there. I'm happy with my progress so far!

Awww thanks! I'm pretty sure it was still a work in progress when you came (as it still is lol) so I'm glad you liked it still! I also remember visiting your island as well, I only saw a portion of it (mostly the entrance cuz trading lol), it was definitely more put together than mine!

When you first enter through the airport, it's the luxurious part of the island with gold roses. There's also stairs that lead to my zen area. My Residential Services is around the area of my airport and it still has that luxurious theme with an outdoor library. Behind my residential services is a little island that lead to my Spirited Away themed house. Other areas include: a purple hyacinth field, an ice cream walk way, a magical forest, a gothic carnival next my my Black Butler themed house, frozen + illuminated carnival, an Egyptian spa + lounge, and a wedding area.

I named my very last reboot of NL Saturday, for the same reason! (So it was like an eternal weekend - but not exactly a vacation either, because those come to an end)
I like your word choice better though!

My town is named after a really chic local art gallery, and my character name is a long-standing inside joke with some close friends. I just wish I could extend that creativity to the island itself

As soon as the Direct dropped I started making a HUGE name list for the island lol
I always start with the name, unless I have a really specific theme in mind then I’ll do theme first and name second(to match)

but basically Iknew I wanted Cove or Bay in the name, and went from there. Ended up choosing between Acacia Bay or Briar Bay and am happy with my choice!

as for actual island inspo I frequent Pinterest but I tried to do all my initialdesigning without outside input, like I wanted to be original to my own design and not just halfway copying things I’d seen before, you know? I def get inspo for my empty bits from Pinterest and instagram now though~

well I did have a island before SparkleBay and I came up with the name SparkleBay Because Sparklecove didn’t fit ~ my island is cute & pink just the way I like it~
