Thought I'd make a summary page to try to help reduce questions!

What we've learned:

Confirmed:

--Amiibos override the 16-villager cycle.
--(Some) villagers will still remember you if they've lived there previously, even outside the 16-villager cycle. Not sure what the pattern is, there are conflicting reports!
--When inviting an Amiibo with 10 villagers, you can choose who to kick out (including someone already planning to move out).
--*All* of the available Amiibo characters EXCEPT the NPCs already in ACNL (like Isabelle, KK Slider, Resetti) can move into your town.
--Villagers moving out naturally take more time to move out (10 days).
--Plot resetting is still fully available (the only villagers affected seem to be those in the middle of being rest during the update)!
--(possibly confirmed) Kicked out villagers are unable to be adopted by anyone else!

Needs Testing:

--Can Amiibo villagers move out naturally, and can they be adopted by somebody else?
--Can Villagers who were kicked out still be rescued via the Void?
--Monster Hunter Stories Amiibos' effect? (I'm assuming you can meet / adopt the Felyne, but was hoping for confirmation)

Please add more that I've forgotten, it's been an information full day :)

Oh god, really, no more villager cycle? That's incredible!

Yep, I tested this myself :-) I invited Inkwell, kicked him out, and then re-invited him, all in 3 days, haha!

It needs to be tested more with other villagers, but all of the reports say the Amiibo card seems to override any villager cycle in place :-)

Thanks!

Were you able to test plot resetting as well? Does it still work?

Are you sure a kicked-out villager doesn't go into boxes? I kicked out Baabara today and she went into boxes instantly. I assume she will be gone tomorrow, but it seems like she should be adoptable today, though I can't confirm that.

OH!!

I hadn't even checked if they were in boxes that same day - could you get someone to come and see if she's adoptable? If so, I might have to kick out poor Inkwell again to see if he's adoptable...

YOU CAN KICK OUT VILLAGERS NOW?!/ THANK GOD!

question though, can you just kick them out without another villager moving out??? I have dreamies ive been waiting to get in because nobody will move.

When inviting in an amiibo, you can choose who to kick out. You cannot just kick someone out (as far as I'm aware)

do you have to update each game that you have? or does it download to the system

Can someone confirm whether the kicked out villager appears in boxes or just leaves? Thinking about kicking a villager out so someone can take her and I need to make sure it works.

I read the villager would be in boxes right after (on the very same day), but didn't test it myself...

Here's my question can you get link wolf villager with a normal link amiibo?

Because it's going to confirm of particular purchase

I kicked out O'Hare using wisp and he did not go into boxes, he was just gone the next day. EDIT: I did not immediately go to his house to see if he immediately went into boxes

I tried plot resetting and it did not work

Ok I didnt check ok but I invited a villager through Amiibo and I was offered to move Moose out.

He was totally gone the next day. It surprised me!
I think he instantly went into boxes. Instant.

Then I think they totally disappear the next day

Plot resetting doesn't seem to be working. I've been trying to plot Teddy for a while now and he's ALWAYS in the same awful spot. The spot even shows up the same on the start screen. It NEVER moves. I'm gonna have to kick him out and re-invite him over and over again until he gets in the generalish area that I want him in if plot resetting really is broken.

Same experience I had. So I would say that it is definitely not an option anymore, not how we were able to do it anyway.

Oh god, that's horrible. Now my planning for two of my towns is all messed up...
