Info Regarding Traveling Merchants' / Island Visitors' Schedules!

According to Ninji, a well-known data miner, new information has been discovered relating to when certain merchants will visit the island!

Apparently, Saharah, Kicks and Leif are guaranteed to appear sometime during the weekdays (Monday - Friday), while the last two slots will be taken by two of the five remaining merchants/visitors (Guilliver, Label, CJ/Flick, and Redd).

This means that you will likely miss out on three merchants/visitors per week. There appears to be a "bad-luck countermeasure" that increases the chance of these missed merchants to appear during the next week, though.

Wisp is entirely random, simply choosing a random day, while Celeste appears when shooting stars occur.(doesn't have to be a meteor shower). Both are independent of the aforementioned schedule for visitors/merchants.

K.K. Slider and Daisy Mae are guaranteed slots on the weekend. (Saturday = KK, Sunday = Daisy Mae)

I just found this interesting as I was getting frustrated with not seeing Redd for two weeks, but it's nice to know that Nintendo at least put some effort to ensure you'll see them at least some of the time, lol.

This reminds me that I need to end my TT and villager hunting ASAP, so I can get the rest of the travelling merchants to come to my island (i.e. Redd). This is gonna be helpful once I do get back into the swing of just playing the game for what it is haha

Yeah, I kinda wish Redd and Leif swapped places, so that Redd would be guaranteed to be a weekly visitor. I feel like Leif isn't as important tbh, as you can just bulk buy his bushes and be done with him for awhile lol

Yeah I agree, and especially since Redd brings fakes all the time it's going to take that much longer to complete your museum
Lief having less spawns makes sense since there's a bush/tree limit anyways for 5 star islands. Unless you have tons of weeds to sell him or something he doesn't need to appear that often.

I haven't had Redd visit since literally April 26th. That's when the museum upgraded after buying him the first painting he offered, and that was a Sunday. On top of that, all his paintings and statues were fake. That means I've gone 3 weeks without seeing him, so I don't know about this "bad-luck countermeasure", lol. It's really frustrating that Nintendo chose not to give him a weekly visit, since he can come with fakes, effectively rendering him useless (unless you're willing to decorate with fakes, which I am, but still). I don't even know what to do with so many bushes now.

I haven't had Redd visit since literally April 26th. That's when the museum upgraded after buying him the first painting he offered, and that was a Sunday. On top of that, all his paintings and statues were fake. That means I've gone 3 weeks without seeing him, so I don't know about this "bad-luck countermeasure", lol. It's really frustrating that Nintendo chose not to give him a weekly visit, since he can come with fakes, effectively rendering him useless (unless you're willing to decorate with fakes, which I am, but still). I don't even know what to do with so many bushes now.

It's also pretty frustrating that there's a limit to purchase goods from him. Best case scenario is still time gated. Kind of like TTing is part of the gameplay design, lol

OMG The same thing is happening to me, I got Redd (when we was walking around) and also the next day during the museum upgrade, but after that he just disappeared! I have TTed so I hope that has nothing to do with it, but I hope he comes back soon.

this is really nice to know!! i've had multiple visitors on the same day though - unless i just don't remember correctly? also i swear i've had extra npcs on the weekend, again though i may just be delusional.

also i haven't had gulliver in so long, maybe i'll see the dead seagull again soon lol

I must have had an insanely high bad luck count for Gulliver since it took a month for him to finally show up on my island again.

its possible to have celeste, wisp + a traveling merchant all at the same time if you're lucky, so that might've happened to you lol

leif and redd can also appear on the same day, if you logged on during the first day of Nature Day and talked to Blathers about the expansion prior to that day

these rules don't apply until you've unlocked the able sisters (since kicks/leif can't set up on the plaza until its built), so its possible that mabel was the traveling merchant?

They are locked to specific dates, different for each island. For example, on mine, I know I had one on April 28, 2020. TTing outside of the week won't change this, and I will always have a meteor shower on April 28, 2020. However, I probably won't have one April 28, 2019 or April 28, 2021.

its good to know that the meteor showers are set in stone! im guessing it similar to how the merchants are assigned certain dates? (such as redd always being on a set date, allowing for you to TT back and forth to get more artworks?)

That's interesting that they're locked to dates per system/island. It'd be nice if they would give each island one guaranteed meteor shower per constellation cycle, though. I haven't had a single meteor shower under Taurus and I'm starting to get a little antsy about having to wait all the way until next year for maybe another chance.

Also, they should have made Redd a regular M-F visitor and not Kicks. Has anyone ever started up their game and been glad to see Kicks?
