I'm starting to really dislike my villagers

Aren't all of the villagers really nice though? I mean, yeah, some can be really annoying but they're not as abrasive as the GC edition. Not to mention the cranky villagers have watered down to being more "dad"-like and the snooty villagers are more like high-class women.

I mean, I kinda wish there was more to the dialogue like I said in ACNH rant thread where they talk about about their skills, their goals/future career, and say lines that kinda fit their zodiac. It would make them seem more interesting and more unique.
Oh, snooties can have their moments. Freya told me to put a paper bag over my head after I got stung by a wasp because my appearance was undignified and it ruined her view of the island. In response, someone in the Discord posted a screenshot of their snooty telling them their stung face would make children cry.

Towards other villagers, I've seen several instances of my villagers walking around with black sad-clouds over their heads because Freya said something nasty to them. One wrote her a letter and Freya called it juvenile and told the writer to not send her another one. One tried to share food but Freya didn't like it.

(all the while, Judy has been an absolute peach)

I can't speak for crankies because the game just refuses to let me have one, but I think Nintendo may have compromised on the snooties by making them mean again, but only in certain instances (like getting stung, or talking to them enough to be a bother) and mainly toward other villagers.

You have to order a few pizzas and invite them to your house to play FIFA with you. A few days after that, their interactions will be a lot more interesting. They'll tell you about how they spent 2.000 Bells buying FIFA Points to find Ronaldo's card, but got mad because they only managed to find a 75 overall card.

I would say talk to the villagers more. My animals give me gifts and ping me to buy the flea I have in my inventory. But the lazy villager diologe is a little stale so I get that.. I dont care about the bugs in your house!

As I stated on your topic when you were claiming that the community was ruining your experience of the game because people on here interact and trade with each other, I'd still like to recommend you give another game a try. Have you considered the story of seasons series or stardew valley? You honestly aren't going to find super deep and engaging characterization and complex backstories with animal crossing characters.

I cant tell if this is satire or not lol

At first I cringed a little, but then I put on my GameFAQs-tinted glasses and OP (who I believe also posts regularly on the ACNH board over there) suddenly made a whole bunch o' sense.

this absolutely sent me i'm so sorry

if this is real (post history suggests that it is), i would suggest maybe taking a small break from this game and, like Mairen said, trying something else that might give you the fulfilling character depth that you're looking for. stardew valley maybe! a little distance from the anthropomorphic animals might help.

Try putting everyone in a maid dress. I did that to Raymond and he came to my house the next morning, announced ‘maid service!’ in a really camp voice (and I ain’t talking pocket camp) and started dusting my whole house. Apparently that stops cockroaches from appearing in your house too, so it’s a win-win.
It’s midnight where I live and I can’t sleep so I’m bored 🤣

EDIT: Did it actually censor the name of the insect, wow ok I’m just gonna leave that there cuz that makes it funnier 😂

You do know that all villagers of the same personality are effectively the exact same, right? If you like Cranston, then the only reason you should hate Stu so much is if you think he's ugly. He's basically the same person as Cranston because they're AI and both programmed to say the same things since they're both lazies. Like I literally don't get why you hate him unless you hate his design?? He's not flea-infested and stupid, he a bunch of code who has the capability to say and do the exact same things that made you love Cranston. This should be obvious. That's why you have to use your imagination to make them seem different in your head. I can't tell if this whole thread is satire or not.

Fang (who's cranky) can't stand Raymond and constantly expresses how his attitudes or hobbies are unnecessary and overdramatic. Also while having a conversation he seemed super annoyed by him. Also while he was hanging out with Tipper (a snooty) he was expressing how she was too happy and that I should never behave like her when I am too. I was kinda surprised since he's been overly nice to me at all times lol

So they might be kinda similar where they are grumpy to other villagers without yelling at the player character and making the player feel bad? Interesting
