Hello all!
Just wanted to share my experience and possibly gain some knowledge from other peoples experiences ^^
Sorry if I sound dumb. My goal is to get the public work projects associated with having a perfect town.
I read the requirements , and I have tons of flowers and barely any trees. I'm confused as to how many trees we need and how do you tell by acre? I also really don't like having that many trees so I hope to get that over with to get what I need. I'll chop them down afterwards. I want to have more public work projects but nobody is suggesting any! I've tried the suit trick too and usually its a project i don't want. Perhaps I'm picky or just a penny pincher. I also don't understand how to get multiple public work projects rewarded from having a perfect town. Do they come all at once? Are they random? Also do I really have to water every flower? Not going to lie, i probably have over a thousand or more and it sounds so tedious.. I never have anything on the ground so trash isn't a worry(except lost items). Whew sorry i wrote a lot !

Dont aim for it, just play the game as you like adding the Pwp's you want and landscaping as you wish. I did that and got Perfect rating in like 2 weeks by accident.

No, you need to have trees.

Requirements are about 220 trees and flowers, and around 15 pwps, and you can't have a garbage can or oil rig or whatever

You also get a bunch of pwps after you unlock perfect town
i.e. flower clock, and 4 town hall renovations.

It sounds like you think you can only build one of each PWP for it to count towards perfect town status (PTS), unless I misunderstood? If that is the case, it is actually okay for you to just built multiples of the same PWPs if there is one you like.

For example I got PTS unintentionally when I was erecting street lamp after street lamp in order to repel villager houses. I think I got it after about 12 or so street lamps. I also had some flowers I hoarded from the islands and I didn't really add or chop down any trees.

Also the acre thing doesn't really matter in ACNL anymore.

I don't think thats right about the garbage can though, I got perfect town with one. Or I was lucky and had enough other pwps to cover for it? Either way what I do is the same as others have said, I just develop my town and wait for the first perfect town flower to alert me of my status. I have never had luck with the swimming trick for pwp's, I just play and end up getting them requested.

Yeah there are certain PWPs like the garbage can, oil rig, the illuminated ones, etc. that lower your rating but they don't make it impossible for you to get perfect town, you just need a balance. You're definitely going to need trees too although I'm not sure if there's a minimum amount. You need a balance between "natural" and "developed" areas so you probably won't need as many trees if you don't have too many projects, and acres don't matter.

You don't need to water every flower, really just the ones that are wilting if you don't want them to die, but it sounds like you have enough flowers that if a few die it won't ruin your chances. You can always turn on the beautiful town ordinance too if you're concerned about losing flowers.

I struggled to get the perfect town rating, but adding trees helped. A little tip if you don't like trees is to plant coconut and banana palm trees on the beach, or add some bamboo, as they seem to add to the score. ^-^ You can also plant trees along the rail tracks if you want to keep them out of the way.

The illuminated ones lower rating? Should I get rid of my illuminated clock then? I'm on pts but still, it could slip pretty easily :c

don't leave items on the ground and try not to stress about perfect town status! Check with isabelle everyday and see what she suggest you should add to town :)

This whole garbage can and illuminated PWP thing is news to me.

I feel like those are good projects that really add to a town's beauty?
There's a method to this madness, I'm sure.
I got PTS on my first town without too much trouble. Lots of flowers and benches and street lamps.

I think they detract from Natural Beauty.

IIRC if you don't have that many trees you should start planting more of them. They don't have to cover your entire town, a giant orchard in the corner of the map might do it.

just design your town your way. don t let ur dumb villager choose how they wsnt your tiswn intys youe town after all lmso.
whop cares about perfect town

Isabelle always tells me there isn't enough greenery, so I think its the trees. I'm trying to have perfect town so I can unlock the town hall upgrade and flower clock. Are those unlocked all at once? Thanks for the tips and advice. I also have beautiful tone ordinance which I forgot to mention. :)

I also forgot to mention that whenever i plant trees like banana and coconut, they disappear and don't grow! I'm not sure why, I gave them plenty of space to grow. It's another reason why I have trouble adding more trees. Same with bushes. I saw people making entire pathways with bushes yet when I try that, it doesn't grow :c it just disappears after a day or two.

Silly question: you're planting them on the beach, right?

Ensure you have enough greenery to balance out the PWP! Lots of flowers, bushes and trees :) also, some PWP's will lower the rating like the oil rig. Make sure you have no weeds and nothing on the ground :)

I tried both the beach and on land ;; which is recommended?

They'll only grow on the beach, don't plant them too close together.

If she is saying that there isn't much greenery, you do need more trees (flowers help, but trees are better). You can also add PWPs that add to the greenery count and make sure that you don't have PWPs that don't detract from the count. I'd recommend looking at this guide for a general Perfect Town overview on what adds/detracts from it. PWPs like the Town Hall Upgrade and the Flower Clock are both unlocked all at once.

Are you planting the Banana and Coconut trees on the beach? They can only grow there (with the same space specifications as regular trees on land). Are you sure that you're planting the bushes with the proper space requirements as well? You also need to consider the amount of greenery in an area, and you can only have a certain number of bushes/trees touching each other in a line before the line has to be broken by a blank tile/flower. Although if you don't have much greenery to begin with, this probably isn't the issue. Maybe you can post some pictures of places you are having trouble growing bushes. That would help us to see where the issues are.

Thanks for the help!! I'll try to do that when I am off mobile. I tried to plant one bush by the train tracks but that didn't work. Determining the space seems difficult for me. So far my pwps only consist of street lights, water fountain, police station, and lighthouse. I have a few more but I don't think they count. (The roost, bridges). Also the palm trees by the beach might have been too close to a cliff since they disappeared after awhile? They were full grown though and its unusual for that to happen. So far nobody is suggesting more pwp so I'm limited atm. I did add more street lights though. Thanks again!
