If you have multiple players, how do you organise your storage?

I recently created a second player on my account to increase my storage capacity (because I'm too lazy/impatient to upgrade my main house fully), but I'm having issues with how I sould organise stuff between the two houses. I can't decide what should stay in the main house and what should go to the other player, should I use it to store materials? Clothes? Furniture? What type of furniture? It all seems inconvenient (-_-)'.
So I wanted to know, if you have multiple players, what's your organisation system?

Excess materials, fish and bugs for CJ and Flick models, the models themselves, female clothing, and unorderable items I'll never use (like piles of fake art and fishing tourney/bugoff/gulliver rewards) all go to my second character to be stored there.

Mainly the last two, because I like to catalog a lot of clothing in case I decide to dress up a villager, and I also can't bring myself to trash the items that are hard to get even of I'll never even use them.

My main storage is still pretty full, but being able to put those items elsewhere has made sure I have some space left over. :)

I use them to store bugs and fish ready to be turned into models, materials I hardly use (summer shells and pearls), NMTs that is only used for island hopping, and unreorderables I know I won’t be using anytime soon if at all.

Just things I don’t need ready at hand most times.

That makes sense, I also tend to hoard clothing for villagers so I could move it from my main house

Just getting rid of the clothing that wouldn't really fit my character freed up a few hundred slots of storage space, since I tend to buy things in multiple colours. Definitely recommend it! :D

I have almost all my items in my main storage, but I'm thinking of moving over half my materials, a lot of seasonal materials (such as pumpkins...) and seasonal items I know I won't be using until next year. I'm at around 1500 filled slots in my storage right now and have had to clear it out several times in the path, mostly clothing because I hoard clothes.

Things I know I would forget about or want to use often, like cute clothes, furniture I want to decorate with, most materials et cetera I like to keep in my main character's storage. I fully upgraded my side character's house, mostly to be able to change the exterior, so I have a lot of space on that user that I could definitely utilize.

Ooh this is a good idea. Currently I haven't been utilising my 2nd character's storage enough aside from keeping all the books/cardboard boxes/paper stacks and other items that are used for crafting but I think I'll be moving most of my out of season clothes there as well.

I have five characters myself and I'm still working out how to distribute stuff between them xD

Main: Clothes, random furniture 5 stacks of each common crafting material, bugs/fish for models, event items that aren't part of a series (I'll probably move them to the next character eventually)

2nd: Bug/fish models, event item series, special crafting materials

3rd: Not sure honestly

4th: Villager posters, working on a full collection

5th: Event duplicates, one of each tool variant, clothes I want to keep but take up too much space

I have two characters and I've been caught up with farming balloons for seasonal recipes that I haven't been on top of keeping storage organized. >_<

Main: female in-season (mostly) clothes, furniture I use for decorating, common crafting materials, half of bugs/fish for models, Nook Mile tickets

Alternate: male clothes that this character can wear, extra non-orderables (Saharah, Gulliver, Gullivarrr, wedding), NPC posters from the generous @Dunquixote 🥰 (hope you don't mind the shoutout, thanks again friend!), the other half of bugs/fish for models, bug/fish models that are not currently in use for decoration

Getting rid of clothes I've never changed either character into and orderable furniture I've never used freed up a lot of slots for me.

I still buy any new clothes in all the colour variants from the Ables' shop, but I make sure to sell anything I won't immediately wear at least once weekly.

I haven't come up with an organization system for my 2nd player house yet. It was also created just for storage and the character is my 1yr old son lol. I think I'll take some ideas from here though and let you know what I come up with!

oh yeah i hoard books and to some extent cardboard boxes, too! might have to do the same, would easily clear up a good thirty spots or something lmaoo

i have two characters for storage. apparently my first character with a fully expanded houses that comes with 1600 storage space is not even enough so i had to create another one. For my first character, i store whatever is essential. That means crafting materials, furniture i think i'd use a lot for decorating and also clothes. Clothes because i change clothings a lot. For my second one i just store stuff that i may or may not use in the future. So things like that are seasonal stuff that only look good in certain seasons. Also i store floorings, wallapers and rugs in my second character too. in addition to those two are also interior furniture like villager photos and wall mounted items.

i actually did it. put 300-400 items on the ground and had my side character come pick it up, i chose the items i wrote in my first post in this thread. took ages and i'm not even done picking it up yet but at least i'll have more storage for my hoarding...

I fully upgraded my house and lay out my items in a hidden spot on my island or on the beach. I am bothered with the clutter so I usually have to clear out my storage and free up some space.

Atm, it’s pretty random aside from my female alt’s storage. I made her to stash all of my posters that I had out for the cataloguing event (before it was patched). I also have a couple elaborate kimono stands in there since i have plans to continue with the Japanese theme for her house’s interior, but atm have no ideas.

My other alt is where I’ve been sending some of my unorderables to since I can’t fit them all in my storage.

I’m considering making another alt to design like a store and have them store my materials.

I only have one at the moment for myself (my brother has an acc) but I am almost certainly going to make an alt for myself when I finish terraforming! I am trying to be neat on my island and I want a storyline on it so I might put the house in the middle of the woods and have a ‘wild’ character but still use it for storage

My second character holds seasonal clothing I don't want to use right now (i.e. summer clothes in the winter time, Halloween stuff, etc.), furniture that I'm not using but may need, and any unorderables I have stockpiled.

My main house has all my materials and clothing I regularly wear. It's such a help to have a place to offload things I'm not using!!

Seasonal and most unorderable furniture are stored on my 2nd character. I've been hoarding so many clothes on my main one despite not wearing most of them. :P
