TBT is celebrating the start of the Year of the Horse! Our latest event, TBT's Lunar New Year for 2026, is now underway! Meanwhile, we invite you to share your feedback for the forum in the February 2026 Survey. Thank you!
I remember there was an event here on TBT where we had to build our own outdoor café, and I ended up keeping mine on my island. But now, with Brewster on the way, I feel like it's a bit redundant to have an outdoor café when there's going to be an actual, functioning café in the Museum! So I will probably tear mine down.
How about you all? If you're tearing down your outdoor café, what will you be replacing it with?
Yeah, I am. I mean I liked what I built because it's in the shape of a ship but.. I don't care for the whole outdoor café vibe. I'm not sure what will replace it but I'm sure I can do something really fun with all the new items/foliage.
I have a lighthouse cafe on the northeasternmost shore of my island which I made for one of the TBT events last year. I never bothered removing it and left it as is.
I'll probably remove it soon because I plan on turning the outdoor space exhibit by my museum into an outdoor cafe instead.
I'm keeping mine. I think having three cafes fits the loose theme of my island very well.
Most all travel destinations with high tourism have a zillion cafes all over. Especially European cities. They're the perfect tourist traps. Attract them with the cute and/or trendy decor, then charge them out the back end for a cup of coffee and a pastry. It's the perfect grift. Of course, the locals know to hit up the museum spot for the good stuff.
What makes it even better is that one of my cafes is Sanrio-themed, so it feels more like a pop-up fad than the straightforward, no-frills atmosphere of the Roost. The other is in a hotel/bnb so I figure whoever'd be staying there would feel obligated to visit that one instead.
I know I want to make an area dedicated to food even with the cafe being released. I have a bar on my island that I have never been quite satisfied with regardless how many times I twink it. Still don’t know what exactly I want.
I know a lot of people made one in place of the Roost, but now that we are getting one, I’m not sure what people are going to do. There can always be two cafes but if they’re both dedicated to Brewster, it may be weird. I know I’ve seen a lot of fake Brewster characters.
I did something like a tiki grill bar on the far side of my beach back when we had the camp event for one of the tasks. I might keep it just because it's not coffee related and more like a restaurant.
I also have a outside nursery so if Leif actually does get a place on Harv's I might just tear it down because it's really not that great looking.
I will probably just leave it there since it fits into that particular section of the town so well. The only way I would have tore it down is if we had the option to put Brewster on his own plot of land somewhere. Since this isn't the case, I have no reason to get rid of what I've built, personally.
Hah, no way. Do you know how much time it took me to set it up? It was one of my dream facilities to have on my island for quite a while. I wasn't even thinking of The Roost when I was building it, so no.
Besides, I've got Café K.K. playing on phonographs with fancy tableware/dinnerware furniture. It's a classy café, and, it's by the river too. Too classy that it would be a shame to tear it down.
Haha I wondered about this. I'm redoing my island and haven't really included a cafe as such, because at that point I knew Brewster was coming, but I do have a beach bar/grill and a small outdoor library with a kind of bakery vendor thing, but it's such a small detail that it hardly matters. Not that it should anyway, I mean build what you want and if you like it, keep it. Like someone already said, most places have a ton of cafe's anyway.
Mine is an outdoor cafe area. It’s pretty small. I made a custom design of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf logo(a Southern California based coffee chain) and I’m proud of the design. I’m not sure if I want to keep it or not
mine is literally right outside the museum so </3 after seeing the Roost i considered tearing it down, but ultimately i think mine serves a different purpose than Brewster's since the coffee cups can be easily swapped out for bubble tea or something so it's okay to stay. also i don't know what i'd do with the space if the cafe wasn't there so.
