if there's 1 tool that would never break, what would you choose?

it's the shovel for me.
like, do they even break irl? the steel ones (not the flimsy ones)? 💀

i can't be the only one who think using them just to move your flowers and bushes around and it breaking often can be so ridiculous.
to me, the nets & fishing pole breaking can be justifiable because you'll earn money from your catches anyway. sure we can hit rocks for resources, but i feel like we'd hit it anyway to get resources for DIY's.

definitely the shovel! I hate when I'm trying to move a bunch of flowers and it gives up right before you dig up the final one. everything else is kind of annoying but I can live with it. I could do with an unbreakable watering can, not necessarily because I use it all the time but rather since I don't use it all that much so I'd rather just have one with me all the time as opposed to having to buy a new one whenever I remember

agreed. shovel for me as well.

always find myself needing to relocate flowers and other things that needs digging. second would have to be the axe for when i need to collect wood. ah every time there's a talk about golden tools, i sure do find myself reminiscing about the good old days of nl when they didn't break. 🙄

I could just see a steel shovel irl get dinged up pretty bad and dull but we don't really have steel shovels in this game. It's either like super toy-like or still has the wooden handle. Well outdoorsy shovel looks more durable.

I would probably lean towards shovel too though.

Yeah I agree... The shovel should never break. Maybe even the watering can (but then again I can imagine that tool rusting because of the water inside, so I can somewhat rationalize it breaking)

I'd also pick the shovel, but if that were off limits, I'd go with the stone axe. I definitely go through shovels the most out of anything though, with axes / stone axes next in line.

Honestly they should have just made the gold tools unbreakable..

shovel, definitely - would make having to dig up the millions and millions of flowers that have taken over my island a bit easier lmao

Shovel for sure.
I'm constantly planting and digging up bushes and trees, and it would be nice not to have to haul 100 (yep, that's how many I go through every two days.) customization kits to renew the life of my shovel that never broke in any other AC game until now. :(

Shovel for sure I am always moving my trees and flowers around all the time. I usually buy like 4 at a time from nooks cranny so I can get half the job done. Cause nothing annoys me more when I am so close to finishing my move and the shovel breaks on the last tree before I can pick it up.

shovel, like 10000% my most used tool.

most other tools *kind of* make sense breaking, like fishing rods need to be re-lined and nets... well the fabric rips rather easily (especially with the SIZE ratio of some of the bugs in this game... seriously LOL)

but shovels? seriously? have you seen those shovels that have literally been around for YEARS, covered in rust, that still work?

also watering cans don't make a ton of sense either but I'm not gonna go on too much about realism in this game, this post would never end LOL

I agree with everyone on here - definitely the shovel! Flowers have taken over my island and it’s a pain having to dig them up. Made even more painful when the said tool breaks in the middle of digging flowers up and Nooks is already closed!

Shovel, I've had so many break from relocating flowers. So many flowers, so many broken shovels. It would be nice if they didn't break.

The shovel for sure. I've been spending the past couple of weeks putting down paths and making yards for my villagers, which has required me to dig up hundreds of flowers from hybrid growing plots that have all spread like wildfire. I always dread moving/digging up flowers because I always lose track of how far along my shovel is and I really don't want to spend five hardwood to make a new one.
