My town of Old Leaf is all wolf (10) and they need constant monitoring. Some have moved out without notice. Whitney is the most slippery and she has managed to leave twice unexpectedly but nobody is going anywhere as long as I have their Amiibo cards. Well, Wolf Link is controlled with a Link Amiibo figurine.
I have ten amiibo villagers. They ping because there are no regular villagers.
If you had nine amiibo's and one regular, the regular would ping to move every second turn.
It took me almost a year for an amiibo to ping when I had three regular, and seven amiibo's.
I got sick of waiting, so I bought a heap of cards, booted EVERYONE out, learned to plot reset, and now I have ten amiibo's exactly where I want them.
It still sucks that they basically never ping unless you have an all amiibo town. ^_^
