I cant remember if this was in the older versions or not but although I agree it's kinda sad not reacting to the weather but the rain do look very pretty when it goes onto umbrellas

I definitely miss this feature. My fave was getting out of the water from a swim in the winter and shivering.

I haven't played New Leaf in so long that I forgot this was a thing. Now that I read this thread I'm feeling nostalgia over something that I didn't care for at the time. Now I miss seeing my character reacting to the weather.

yeah that was such a cute little feature in new leaf! really made the seasons more... like.. real? cuz in summer for NH, it's just, liek, uh, buncha green and sunny? you can wear winter clothes, and it doesn't matter too much, but if you like had a heatstroke in the middle of summer that'd definitely make it more interesting. and scary. oof, imagine having a heatstroke

Also, something similar to this, one time in about mid-august i was wearing a long sleeved outfit (an ice-skaters outfit) and Gala told me that if I was cold in the middle of summer I should rest and take some medicine lol. so yes, they are at least sort of implementing the weather

I miss this too. I also miss how the hourly music would change to a softer version of the song whenever it was raining or snowing too.

The hourly music does change! You can look up the “rainy” and “snowy” versions of the tracks on YouTube.

To be fair, I feel like the weather is actually supposed to be warmer than we would assume. Look at the villagers having their little barbeques in November! Not really an activity to have when it's 40 degrees outside.

I had no idea that was a thing in New Leaf! Maybe my memory is going (which wouldn't be too much of a surprise, lol) or maybe I was somehow always appropriately dressed. I don't really remember my character responding to the weather at all.

But I'd love to see that make a comeback in New Horizons for sure. I wouldn't prioritize it over quality-of-life improvements (which in all honesty should have been made months ago... yes I'm bitter) but it would be one of those welcome little details that would make people smile.
