I started playing acnh on tv more and...wow just like Jjba it's an experience

I usually play on tv, but sometimes I play on handheld. I’m always blown away by how good it looks when I re-dock it!

It's not just the screen/graphics - it's nicer to have better speakers than the built-in ones on the Switch. The game sounds a lot better. I also prefer to play docked because I have a USB keyboard hooked up to my dock. Makes it easier to type to others, letters, or to even use to search function in the catalog.

holy crap yes. I don't like playing in front of other people (there's only 1 tv in the house) so I've only tried it once but it was a magical experience. definitely have been considering saving up for a tv just for animal crossing, it just so gotdamn beautiful

it'd also be nice to know it's indefinitely charging, the way my ports are set up in my bedroom is terrible and I have to take breaks because it's too hard to play the game while the switch is charging
we really going throo it 😔

I vastly prefer playing AC on my television so I can enjoy it all in HD and with my sound bar. Plus, I’ve been waiting for an AC to be playable on a big screen for a long time now- my first experience with the series was on the Gamecube and the move to handheld was a significant ( though not insurmountable ) downgrade, imo.

The first week or so I played mostly on the TV, so I could appreciate the graphics and music more. Now though I almost exclusively play handheld with no sound and just watch TV as I play. I like being able to multitask!

I play all games on TV.. My Switch has hardly ever left the dock...

Is it really that much better? Am I doing something wrong? (serious question...)

When I play it on my monitor or TV screen at 1080 it looks all aliased and "jaggy," but maybe there's a setting or something I'm missing. Right now I play in table top mode usually, don't really feel like I'm missing out but maybe...

It strikes me as odd that people don't play the game the majority of the time docked. It's my preferred method of play for any game, and of course, the HD graphics are superb.

I know that I've been trained from Gameboy life. I didn't own a Gamecube so I'm just used to my Nintendo games being handheld. Gotta say that I do love playing it on the tv though!

I just started playing on TV, it's really great with all of the graphics and stuff, but the downside is that is harder to fish (The vibration of the fish "nibbling" is the same as when you caught it when not on TV)

I love playing on the TV, but I tend to just play in handheld mode because I enjoy just waking up in the morning and starting my day with ACNH right away :) I should realistically play more on the TV to avoid Joy-Con drift, so I’ll probably start that tonight

oh my god yes, after playing NL on the original 3DS for so long, i get to play NH on my boyfriend's giant screen tv and it's so lovely. beautiful and you can actually see what you're doing and if you're using the joycons in the controller thing it doesn't make your fingers and hands cramp as quickly!

I was playing mostly handheld at the beginning, but at some point I switched to TV and I feel like it gains something on the big screen!

I have a Switch, but since I'm living with my parents at the moment and they work from home, I haven't been able to try it in TV mode yet. I also suspect our TV is too old to do it... I'd imagine the graphics would look great though!

I'm sure it looks amazing, but to me Animal Crossing has always been a handheld game. I'd prefer to watch something else on TV while playing, having ACNH on the big screen as my only thing honestly seems a little bit boring to me. That's why I wasn't even interested in City Folk either. But I'm sure it would be nice to see someone else play while you're just chilling!

I'm the same way, I like to play handheld and watch TV in the background so also did not get much into City Folk as I did WW and NL. I still haven't played NH docked. I need to. I watch YouTube streams of it on my TV and it looks great. I just like watching stuff in the background. Usually when I'm playing I'm watching something on TV and have my laptop open to TBT or Discord.

I play most of my Switch games on TV mode, but I've played 99% of New Horizons in handheld as I've always preferred Animal Crossing in handheld. Might try to play more on the TV though after reading some of the replies here -- I feel like I'm missing out on an experience!

I actually prefer AC on TV (or any game). I like the big screen experience. It's also great that I can play in bed with handheld (or anywhere without having to lug wires and a huge console around).

I've been longing for AC on a console since City Folk... and as much as NL is my favourite AC game I could never go back to it because it's on too small of a screen for me to enjoy it properly.

this thread made me decide to finally hook mine up to the monitor and wow... you weren't joking its amazing

I play on what I’d consider a ridiculously big hd tv and a sound bar (both are my husband’s choices) and it is an EXPERIENCE.
