I received a Birthday letter from my in-game mom....

It's sweet, but here's the problem..my birthday is not until February. I haven't TT to February, so this is weird..
So is this a glitch?

It happened to me too when I was doing the campsite method. Checked my mail to see this letter in July when my birthday isn't until August. Got my cake early.

I had the same thing happeened to me! I TTd to move out a villager and after I synced back to real time, I found this letter, but my birthday is in december. Pretty sure it's a bug. But the cake is cute, not gonna lie

Same thing here! Had been TT'ing a week (to June) to get a villager to move... went back and a birthday letter and cake was waiting for me, though my birthday is not until October.

I agree with the person above, it's probably a bug!

I think the game is just counting the days for whatever reason. There are 331 days between those dates, do you think it's possible you loaded up 331 different days? Because if you go back a day, the game still counts it as a "new" day no matter how many times you go back and forth.

This happened to my brother in law, he got a birthday card from Mom and a cake, but no one else on our island did. His birthday is in March, which happened before ACNH came out, and my sisters birthday is in Jan, also before ACNH came out, but she didn't get a cake. So I'm not really sure what's causing the cakes and cards to come at times when they are not supposed to. My husband's birthday in in July and he hasn't gotten one, and mine is in Nov, but same, still haven't gotten any cakes.

Like someone else said for the mom letter the game seems to be counting the number of active days to your birthday and not checking the date.

Happened to me too, but I just thought either it was a bug or the ingame mother is no good with dates. ^^u

A couple of my friends and I all got that exact same letter at one point when our games were set to April. All of our birthdays are in autumn/winter. I distinctly remember one of them saying “maybe it’s your mom’s birthday” so I clarified that the letter says it’s the day we met, and she said “then maybe the player character is adopted” as a joke. It’s gotta be a bug lol, maybe a result of TTing?

Edit: Whoops, skipped over the part in the OP where you said you haven’t TTed to February. But actually I hadn’t TTed to by birthday either so I was more thinking maybe just doing a large amount of TTing at all somehow causes this, though I can’t say how it would... this is such a weird glitch and I’m surprised it still hasn’t been fixed.

My birthday was Monday and in-game mom didn't send me anything . No card, no cake. Actually, neither did my real mom come to think of it. Honestly, my AC friends made a bigger deal of my birthday than my real friends- they threw me a surprise party! I've never even had that irl!
