I miss the megaphone

Y'all. I miss the megaphone so much. I took it for granted in New Leaf-- And now I spend long days running around this massive island hoping I'll run into the villager I'm looking for. I lose track of villager locations so fast! I swear they move quicker in this game than in the past. Or. . Maybe I just have way too many trees and have bad eyes (probably both). Anyway, anybody else feel this way?

May sound creepy, but I really hope we get an update on the Nookphone or something that shows us our location on the map, as well as the locations of villagers and guest players moving in real-time! That would be so helpful. Especially when you've got another player over who goes off-road and you've no idea where they're at and if they're trampling your flowers..

it would be interesting if they could link it to the app or something, but that might lock out people without switch online. i would definitely love an update to at least show us our own location as well as any friends that are over!

I think it'd be better (and less creepy) to just... Be able to CALL our villagers/NPCs on our phones? We know the other villagers have them so at the very least we should be able to send them a quick "where are you" text or give them a call and then they tell us where they are.

It baffles me this is not a thing. Everyone on the island has a phone, why can't we call or text each other?

Yeah! That would make so much sense! It would make it easier to find them too.

I miss it too. there were time when I was looking for a villager but I was too lazy to see if they were in the museum or not..last place they could be.

Yes!! These two ideas combined. Call/text them and have them drop a pin and send the location! It'd be cute to add a little texting feature. Or facetime.

Can you imagine getting a facetime call from your Lazy villager "Hey the bugs told me to call you"

yes please!! i was looking for amelia this morning since i found a lost item that belonged to her, and she was *nowhere*. i looked on every corner of the island, inside every house, every store, every room of the museum! she was just constantly outrunning me somehow! this should 100% be an app on the nookphone.

I need the megaphone back pronto -- i was trying to find Fang for 15 mins today and he was asleep... behind my waterfall... somehow he'd gotten behind the map. It must be a living hell for people with crazy terraformed towns trying to find them behind all their cliffs

That wouldn't prevent Nintendo from implementing it. They already do this with the code machine in the Able Sisters shop. If you don't have online, you can't use it.

I think they either just haven't figured out a way to make this work, or just haven't thought of the idea.

I think it would be awesome if it came back in the nookphone. Maybe you text them and they send you a picture of themselves so you can see the location around them?? That would be way more useful than the general direction

oh my gosh yes Never thought I'd miss it as I hardly used it in New Leaf. But trying to find villagers or NPC's on this huge island is exhausting! I've never had such a big urge to yell in the microphone "Celeste!" or "Saharah!" as loudly as possible

I like the idea of using the nook phone to text or call them though! That would also be really helpful when the villagers aren't outside, like if they're in the museum or something. They could call back and say I'm in the fish section or something.

Yes to the first thing, but as someone who plays hide and seek with my friends on the island no to the showing of location of your friends unless it had a hide ability ;; it's a longstanding AC tradition of playing hide and seek hehe
