I've been pondering what to do with this big space by my house, its 15 x 5 in squares when i thought of dedicating it to the villagers that have come and gone with the flower i used around their house beside the picture. I was thinking i could use the custom design sign PWP but you can only use up to 10 and i already have a lot of PWP's in my town. How else can i do it apart from placing a pattern on the ground?

Eh the limitation on the custom design PWP ruins it anyway.
It would of been cool if you could some how reuse the patterns in your inventory without changing it. Like in the museum you can change the signs but you can save the pattern for another day with Mabel and erase that pattern to start over again and it wouldn't change a thing.

You could maybe make just one sign by it that says "Past Villagers" or whatever you want it to say and place their pictures on the ground with flowers around it? That is really the only way I could think to do it without using a ton of patterns sadly =\

I like Blondieboo13's idea of having the one sign. You could also maybe make a standee that features as many villager faces as you can squeeze into the design. I've seen one like that before, with all the hamsters on it! It was really fun.

(Just a note about the sign limit, since I know you're well aware of it--it seems to be eight, unfortunately, and that's only if you don't have standees as well, so it's worse than we thought. At least, that's what happened to me--when I was building my Goblin town, I was going to have signs throughout the labyrinth, plus multiple standees. After all, all the ACNL guides I'd Googled said the sign limit was 10, and the standee limit was 8. But once I started building my standees and signs, Isabelle wouldn't let me build more than 8 combined total of the two. I wasn't near my PWP limit; she just would not allow more than 8 custom PWPs of any kind. I wound up having to just use patterns on the ground, which I know you said you'd rather not resort to.)

I went to this all Lion town and it had 10 lions on the floor pattern wise i thought of the idea of current villagers but also past villagers as a memorial garden thing but i don't think that's possible i cann just about fit two characters in my town now the rest of the plots are only sized for other villagers i have NO idea how to fit 4 characters in my town even then it wouldn't be enough. As i said before i wish there was a way to place a pattern down then you can erase it or write over it and wouldn't change anything that's why i thought of thee custom design sign. I suppose it would work if you did the illegal but i don't wanna go down that road like EVER.

I guess..its a forest i'm not entirely sure. I just go with what i want and like lol.

The flowers and memorial photos makes it kind of like a gravesite. Like they died or you killed them or something.
