I Can't Be Mean to Villagers... Anyone Else?

I just got Clyde in my town, who I don't like. I hit him with a net and he gets so sad and I feel horrid...But i have to keep doing it to get him out. :(

I abuse Violet without shame. I felt bad abusing Flo so I stopped and just ignore her now. But gorillas I'll happily take a net to all day long.

im mean and im not sorry
you're in the way of my path? you're outta here.
your house ruined my garden? no hope for you
you dont get along with my favorite villager? haha bye

Villager: "Hey, I'll trade you this ugly shirt you really don't want for your golden stag, deal?"
Me: "Ok..."

I just want to keep them all happy >n<
I think they're starting to take advantage of my generosity, but I can't help it.

LOL, they've got you, soon they will ask if they can become Mayor.

exactly. gotta assert your dominance.
keep these animals in their place

This is why whenever a hideous villager move in I don't talk to them at all until they move :3 (using time travel) it works well for me ^^

Everytime Im walking to retail to have Cyrus refurbish something, somebody will come up to me asking for that item.
I usually say no. Sometimes they get sad and I feel bad but I dont feel like having to reorder it again q_q

Being mean to your villagers is a complete waste of time to be honest. People do that when they want them gone but how you treat your villagers has 0 effect on whether they stay or leave. 0. Absolutely no effect. The ONLY thing you can get is their picture through kindness, but that's literally it.

There's villagers I don't bother talking to, sure, but I'm not about to waste my time beating on one of them when it doesn't do anything whatsoever. It's a good chuckle the first time but then you realize nothing else ever happens.

I give villagers I don't like catchphrases and greetings like "OMGZHIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!111!!111111111" so they become annoying and I have an excuse to kick them out because they're irritating me.

But hitting them with a net does nothing so its useless lol
it doesn't affect chances of moving

Awww I just made Graham cry because I refused to trade my aurora screen for his lovely end table D: he's my favourite villager but I couldn't part with rare DLC even for him. I didn't expect him to walk around doing the sad emote, though, It broke my heart T-T

ugh he just offered to buy my aurora screen *have to stop carrying that around* :3

I've never hit any with a net and I don't plan to. As much as I dislike goose I talk to him everyday and do all his errands

I would never ever ever be mean to a villager!!!!!!! This game is about Karma. The programmers set this game up to find the good in people.

When you are nice, polite, respectful and honest-- you are rewarded.

I have read so many post about "when is a villager going to suggest a Public works project.

Two- three times a week a villager is coming up to me and suggesting a project.

When I put something up for sale in Re-Tail -- the villager always pays full value.

Villagers are always coming up and handing me different types of furniture, plants, clothes etc.

Apollo is a cranky eagle. I am super nice to him. He has given me several pieces of Rococo furniture.

I also mail the villagers money 2-3 times a week. Most of the time I get a letter that states " I bought you a present with the money you sent.

Send 200 bells to every villager and you will get great presents.

When it comes to making them move out I have no problem being mean and tapping them on the head with the net or being mean and saying no when they ask to buy a rare item they catch me with.

Yes, and I think it's a good thing. I don't do anything cruel to my villagers either, and supposedly if you have higher friendship with them it'll be easier for them to move out when they decide to, otherwise they'll stay in an attempt to "Get to know you better".

I hit Apple with the net ONCE by mistake. I felt so guilty, it was unreal. It was the sad/surprised expression she made that just... ;___;

Not me. If I really don't like a villager I will stop talking to them, and I will push them into pitfalls.

I tried to be mean to and ignore Boone for a while, but it made me feel really bad. I really want him to leave, though. I don't think I was ever really mean to any of my villagers (hitting them with a net and stuff) in previous versions, either.

Ah... same!
Even if I want other villagers, I can't help but say "Don't Go!" when they tell me they're moving out. QvQ I guess I've grown attached to them. They're all so sweet.
