So today I decided I want to complete all of my last 5 bugs before Saturday for the Bug Off. I am missing:
- the Scorpion
- the house centipede
- the fly??? (Does anyone have a rotten turnip?)
- the bee lol (I'm scared of it)
And the Tailwing Dragonfly


So today out of luck I just found a scorpion!!! But alas it attacked me. Do you guys think it will appear again? Should I reset?

Just save and continue a bunch, and/or go in and out of buildings as that also resets the map. Walk around areas you have lots of room to move around. Keep only your net in your inventory but don't keep it in your hand until you're ready to have him come at you. Good luck hun, I caught the first tarantula I saw but then took 6 unsuccessful weeks of attempts to catch a scorpion. 'Course then I caught a second one a week later @_@;

Scorpions are more likely to appear when you have less trees and bushes in your town. So if your town is really crowded, you may have to wait longer for one to appear.

Thanks everyone else for the replies. I just don't want to time travel before Saturday (though I might just for the turnip). Hopefully I see one again soon. I did not know how to approach an Scorpion until now that I googled it lol.

As a tip, I always sneak up to the scorpions. They won't attack you if your sneaking (they will hiss though), until you swing your net. Gives you time to aim.

Thank you! I really didn't know this until today. I feel kind of sad because I've been playing this game since 2013 and ive only see them 3 times so far ): I probably won't get my bug metal till 2020 lol

If I see a Tarantula or a Scorpion I'll suddenly become a marathon runner lol

Are scorpions really as rare as people make them out to be? The one night I spent looking for one to donate to the museum, I found five scorpions in a span of about 15 minutes. All I did was run a lap around my town then go in & out of my house to reset the bugs.

Trust me they're very rare. One time I found two on the same day but that's just one time. I guess you got lucky it happens to everyone


EDIT: in other news I am only missing one animal for my fish encyclopedia. It's the mitten crab!! I'm v happy haha
