Is anyone else miserably poor? I make a small amount on fruits and such, but have literally nothing in the bank. As of right now I have 23,000 bells -- and that's it. I invested quite a bit in turnips this week since people have said they've made a lot with them. However my turnip price of today is 56, while I spent 100 on each. The main reason is because I spend most of my time terraforming, decorating, and chatting with villagers. I'm not complaining, I just find it funny how terrible I am at it.

Me too, I've never reached millions of bells in any AC game because I'm never invested in turnips (can't wake up early enough LOL).
I think in NH with moving buildings costing me 800,000 bells, that cut a big hole in my wallet.

dunno if this is unsolicited advice but if you want to maximize that investment in turnips, i think you've just got to stalk other islands' prices! it can be quite a pain to do it throughout the week but they pay good.

you can do mystery island tours to find scopions/tarantulas. dig up everything so you can increase amount of spawning area. theres videos!

Focus on fruit trees and selling spare fossils you already donated to the museum. Foreign fruits alone can net you a decent amount of money that will help you pay for the costs of moving buildings and constructing bridges and staircases.

Fish can also help, but they're not as reliable as foreign fruit.

I had a few million in NL mainly because of the bank interest, took me probably a few years (with some trading and commissions as well)
And I got a good amount of money in New Horizons because of TT (before the bank interest patch) but only cause I didn't wanna wait for buildings to move and stuff and I was always trying to get villagers out LOL and turnips as well! My friend got a good turnip price and I made so many trips with full bag of turnips, probably made a good 20mil from just that. I feel like for non-TTers, they really should've made it easier to make bells

Try looking for good prices online! Sometimes people charge a fee, but if you can make millions of bells sometimes it's worth it if you buy a lot of turnips at once. I've had horrible prices and only like 1 small spike in the last couple of weeks, so it's sometimes really hard to make bells easily on your island. If you use turnip price calculators that might help you decide when to sell on or off your island!

You don't have to be rich to have fun in this game. I am rich and my island looks like crap and I'm not really sure I'll ever be able to fix it.

To those offering money-making tips like tarantula farming and turnip selling, I don't think you are understanding the meaning of this post :P

If you have a lot of spare time, catch bugs/fish and sell them. That's how I was able to pay the first two expansions of the house (thanks to the red snappers specifically). No TTing or turnips involved.

Now, I stick mostly to just turnips. I am primarily just doing this to purchase expensive furniture.

I would suggest paying attention to the hot item each day for your Nook store. That actually can make you a good amount of bells, especially if you hoard materials. The ones that want iron nuggets especially go for high prices.

I second hot items! Some items take little to no materials and sell for a bunch! My favourite is the frying pan which only takes 2 iron and sells for 1000 bells each regularly.

If you have friends who play the game and they have a different main fruit, fill your pockets with fruit- even if you need to buy some from Timmy and tommy to do it, and then sell them at your friend's place. Then buy their fruit to fill your pockets and sell at your Nooks. Rinse and repeat for easy bells. It's not cheating either!

Seriously, not enough people are hoarding DIY material and crafting and selling hot items daily! Its how I made my first 1 million to put into turnips and now I'm loaded.

The majority of my bells come from selling furniture and hybrids to people on the forums or on discord, selling foreign fruit in nooks cranny (i keep my native fruit to trade with others since there's no point in selling it if i can make a bigger profit), spare fossils since my museum is full and then i invest all i make from that into the turnips. It takes a lot of dedication and expertise to make a lot of bells, especially without turnips and without the online function, but its definitely possible and you'll get better at it!

Turnips are a really fast way to generate profit. I think that the hardest part is getting started; I grinded several hours just to get a few NMTs to pay off my house debt. Once I got past the first five million bells or so, I just started investing into the stalk market as much as I could. I'm making tens of millions per week from turnips.

i’m definitely way more poor than i was in new leaf aha. i’m not too, too bad off but i definitely could use some more bells lmao - fossils and bugs are my best friends rn lol

i have a little short of 5 million, my house is entirely paid off and all the bridges and ramps i currently want, 80% of that has nothing to do with turnips or anything online as i only visit my hubby's island anyhow...

i planted a crap ton of non-native trees, my net and rod are always on me, as well as the shovel for the tedious bait... it's a lot of work, but i saved up all the fish and bugs for flick and cj worth 1k or more, and have made millions by selling to them. hot items all depends on what they're asking for, sometimes it's not worth it(stones are always a shortage for me, clay/iron definitely isn't), other times you can make a killing. i've had the time to do this, normally i'd be driving pretty much every day... but since i have asthma, yep hiding in my house and since it's snowing today... yeah they don't nickname canada the great white north for no reason lol.

I have all types of fruits and a lot of them. I sell them every few days and sell all of my fossils I already have. Turnips too. Also selling turnips and fruits on other islands can net you more profit. You can always just sell items on boards here too. A simple item can earn you a million bells sometimes.

Honestly I'm just the type of person who hates working for money so I invest in turnips

Tarantulas/scorpions are great if you wanna put the time in them, for me turnips just takes less time and effort and brings in much more

I like spending my time in AC doing other things than farm bells so I try to do as many turnips as I can in one day (usually around 40mill) and then just never worry about it for a while

Is it true if the mystery island has a mountain scorpions or turatuals won't spawn?

I saw one earlier today then never spawn again. Mole cricket spawned allot.

What kind of diy projects you do?

And how do you know when to sell them?
