How to stop Auto-Merge

You have to wait a certain amount of time before you can bump. To avoid ppl spamming their own threads to keep them first on list.
I don't remember the exact amount of time but I'm sure someone else does.

I believe you are only allowed to bump threads after 2 hours in Nook’s Cranny and after 4 hours in any other board with the exception of discussion boards, which cannot be bumped unless you have something to add to the discussion.

To add, I'm trying to write a guide that takes a few pages for a cleaner look but my "reserved" posts keep automerging. Does anyone else know how I should handle that or...?

Guess bumping my hybrid guide is against the rules, lol.

I mean, here's what it says in the rules. I kind of doubt anyone would mind if you bumped the thread though. You could ask a mod for clarification though.
  • The bumping of discussion threads is not permitted; i.e. you may not post solely to bump the thread. You must have something on-topic to say when posting in a discussion thread, and the thread topic must still be relevant.
  • Posting a contributory reply in a general discussion thread is permitted and is not classified as a bump, no matter the age of the thread.

you have to either request in the title for people to not post until you get it done, and then edit the title to remove that bit, or in boards where its possible to do it on your own, lock the thread and reopen when the automerge timer cools down to make the next post. then rinse and repeat

Yeah I just requested for people to not reply :)
