How often do you move villagers in and out?

Hopefully not too similar to a previous thread about how many permanent versus temporary villagers you have.

I wanna know how often you move villagers in and out. Are all of yours permanent? Do you find new favorites every week? Do you prefer constant rotation of your entire town? I normally have a set list of permanent residents but very recently I've been changing my dreamy list very often because I have so many villagers that I like. I never intended to keep Sprinkle for example. I was gonna replace her with Flora, but now I've decided to just keep Sprinkle instead! I'm also back and fourth between which Uchi's I want.

I'm normally very particular.

Kinda depends on how I feel on a certain day tbh haha. Right now I’m not tting to get villagers out that I don’t like since I’m ok with most of my villagers for now, besides Teddy (please leave already).

I did TT just a week ago to get Puddles to leave, and then kicked Lopez out with a campsite visitor.

Unless it’s somebody I don’t like I tell them to stay for the most part. Only villager I told to leave so far that I liked was Francine, just because I really wanted to go island hopping for a new villager.

I also planned on having a permanent 10 villagers at first but now I kinda want a rotating set of villagers : O atm Ill probably only have on spot for switching out villagers w amiibos but at some point Id like to have at least 2 rotating spots! I just wish villagers moving in were more random instead of coming from peoples' voids and that the last moved in villager would move out easier : /

also happy to see more people appreciating sprinkle! she is one of my faves : D

I've got 9 permanent villagers (one of each personality + an extra smug) and my 10th spot is pretty flexible. I don't island hunt or look for villagers on cycling/selling threads anymore, but if someone interesting pops up in my campsite then they usually get that spot. I've got Spike right now

Never permanent (unless Lucky or Lobo is involved). I let villagers move in and out naturally.

I've only gotten two "I'm thinking of moving" pings since starting the game so someone moves out monthly - roughly. Keeps things fresh!

I let them leave when they asked it, so roughly every 20 days. When I'll find my last dreamie I won't let anyone leave anymore. Unless I change my mind on the dreamies roster of course

I'm going to be cycling through a lot of them soon because I want to narrow down which snooty, peppy, and normal villagers I want on my island. I have a bunch of amiibos of villagers I like which makes it hard to choose. I'm about to move in Diana and Whitney in the next week or so and keep them around for a while to see who I like better. So I'll have 3 snooties for a while and then after that at some point I'll do the same with a few peppies and normals I like to see who sticks for me.

I really want to move out some of my villagers because I've had almost the exact same list since I started which includes 4 normal villagers - I have never had a snooty, and only one smug who I moved out by amiibo early on 'cause I don't like frogs. (Well, 'cept Lily, she's ok.) But so far I can't get the ones I want to move out... to move out.

How are you folks doing it? Am I missing something? Usually the ones that ask to leave are the ones I want to stay... I've tried the reset-to-shift-the-thought-bubble trick over and over and it's not doing it.

You aren't missing anything. It's just luck.

I got lucky because the first time asked to move the one I really hated and the second and third times the ones that I wanted to move out were the second to ask.

Bad luck perhaps? I've heard mixed reports on the best method to move a villager out. I know back in New Leaf you had to be on speaking terms for a villager to ping you to leave, maybe you need to be at least on speaking terms with the ones you don't want in this game to get them to have a thought bubble? I'm not sure. You may wanna visit some of the threads on here about moving villagers out to help!

I want to add that I also moved out 1 villager (Keaton) thanks to the campsite (I was very lucky because I found Raymond, without TT, and I wasn't even looking for him) and 1 villager (Chief) through Ankha's amiibo.

I've had 3 natural move outs, and one was declined.
I've had 3 campsite villagers move in to replace villagers, one whom I was a little sad about as I liked her (Friga) but I needed an Uchi (this was Paula in the campsite and I like her).
The other two occasions I've been happy with because I have their villager photos and I'm not wanting to keep too many villagers permanently.
I'm just waiting on Pierce to ask to move out now, though that will take under two weeks if it's true they are every two weeks, as Sherb only asked to leave a few days ago. ;_; unless I get someone awesome in the campsite..
