How often do you change your characters look?

I’m always dressing up my villager in different outfits to match the seasons, it's one of my favorite parts of the game!

I used to change really often, just whenever I found something I liked at the Able Sisters or felt that what I was wearing was getting stale. But then I realized that when I commission people on this site to draw my AC character, the drawings would most likely each be wearing different clothes. So I still change my outfit a lot (at least when I’m actually playing the game), but I have a specific outfit dedicated to when I commission, which I don’t do that much anymore.

I literally never change my character’s outfit. They wear the same thing everyday, much like I do in real life. I have a few of the same shirt and pants, and that is good enough for me. I felt the need to clarify since it sounds like I don’t wash my clothes, lmao.

From time to time, it sort of depends
For a while in this summer I had her wear a shirt, shorts (sometimes a skirt with leggings) and beret, she didn’t wear shoes for a while. In the rain I didn’t care, it was just a game, she’d be fine. On Toy Day, she wears a reindeer outfit

In autumn, well, since autumn started off rather warm/hot she wore more summery clothes. Now she’s wearing a full bear costume, perhaps she’ll be wearing hoodies and such

Sometimes her clothing can also reflect/reference a current fixation, for example if a current fixation includes a blue pony, she’d wear colours that character’s colour palette, if the character wears a certain hat, she might wear the same/similar hat. Or I might make a design that reference the character

So sometimes I may change her to reflect that

In New Leaf I kind of just wear the same outfit all the time. In new horizons I change my outfit most times I play, but my hair and eyes usually stay the same. Can’t remember what I did in previous games lol

In my City Folk town I don't change my outfit very often, and when I do settle on one it stays for pretty long, though I do change my hair pretty often! Right now it's the messy hair since it looks cool on my avatar, (Maybe because it's actually the boy villager, lol) that paired with the lemon slice face accessories make my avatar look like a cockatiel bird, lol.

My character is perpetually kitted out with the aloha shirt, shorts, and flip flops. The only real variety is the hat and accessories; sometimes their hat is a sailor hat and sometimes it's a wizard hat, and sometimes they wear glasses and sometimes they wear the drama mask (forget the name to be honest). I just like the outfit and don't feel the need to change it. I used to switch between a steampunk outfit and the aloha one but I prefer the sunny and silly look. Also I feel like I'd never be able to decide on new outfit combinations - I've a hard enough time of that irl for myself lol

Mii Ness- as in, I'm always wearing the Mii Makeup to be my Ness Mii, and I've recently gotten the blue/yellow rugby shirt(I was wearing a b/y striped pattern beforehand)... I don't need to change a thing, because no matter what happens, I know Ness got me.

My character's appearance stays the same, and I only change my clothes every once in awhile to match the season or an event. Sometimes I go for months with the same outfit on my character.

It's wild that this thread is almost 10 years old. I wouldn't really consider changing their clothes as changing their appearance/looks. I was assuming this was strictly a NH topic. I never changed my character's at all in the older games and even now I don't really do it often even though it's so much easier with the mirrors.

It's been really convenient for doing Harv's studio when one of the animal villagers just didn't cut it when filling in for a movie scene.

When I play actively, usually once an in-game month. In GameCube however I'd just rotate the ones I'd saved each day. My whole basement was a giant closet!

Maybe about once in a while when I'm in the mood to do so. Eventually I should look for more outfit ideas to choose from since I have a few I tend to switch to here and there.

Never. Once I have a look it never goes away. For example, my look in NH is a ninja. I will always be a ninja. Not those Naruto ninjas that call themselves ninja but really aren't ninjas. A real ninja in all black attire. One with a sword that functions like a backpack. Yes, as long as NH has ninja clothes programmed into the game, I will carry on as a ninja.

I have very fixed "styles" with the wand (truly, one of the greatest new features of the series!). So I rotate between them! I may also change the look depending on the season/weather :)

In Wild World, I change my outfit pretty often... I swap out basically whenever I see a piece in Able Sisters that I like.
In my New Leaf town, I feel like I change outfits more rarely, like maybe swapping out one piece of clothing every month or so????
My New Horizons character hasn't changed clothes in years. Though that's more an indication of how often I play.

I change my outfit every single time it's a Nook miles task :P So a lot. It's an easy 100NM and about 50% of my storage is clothing, haha. It's fun to swap my clothes around most of the time but it gets tedious doing it like 3 or 4 times in a day

I change depending on weather and sometimes for what I'm doing. A construction outfit when I'm working, rain coat if it's raining, gym clothes if I'm doing yoga or stretching, pajamas if I'm sleeping or relaxing. During the winter though I change waaayy less because I'm always in my snow gear. It makes me feel warmer lol.
