Just a quick thought, I know I myself enjoy playing animal crossing new leaf but I'm interested in finding out how long people find they can play either in days weeks or months, personally I am happy to admit since getting the game in December 2014, I can play for about a month solid (on everyday) before getting tired and having a break of a week or so, my longest period was 3 months from December 2014 upto about the end of February 2015 then I got bored and left the game until about mid march, then got back into it, I seem to have this habit of starting a town playing constantly for the first 2-3 weeks then burning myself out on the game, I dunno what it is, as I can't explain it myself, has anybody else found this? Or suffer from a similar fate with NL?

please share your stories I would love to hear them, also this year I'd easily say I've gone through at least 7 different towns, maybe more, I just burn out quicker than I anticipate sometimes, it makes me feel ashamed admitting this as I'm a huge fan of ACNL, and AC in general (been playing since WW was released) don't get me wrong I love it so so much. I just feel like I'm letting myself down when I hit the wall at 3 weeks :(

I've been playing it consistently since early October. I got back into it back in March or so but stopped playing altogether until October

I burn out easily if I get a new game and it beats the previous game I currently play! But once I get hooked onto a good game like animal crossing new leaf, I don't think I have an easy hand to let go that fast.. I'm pretty late to start on the animal crossing new leaf game that game out a couple years ago, I just got the game near the end of September and I haven't missed a day so far ~ <33 I hope to play for a really long time, I enjoy this series a lot lot lot!

I've never gone longer than two days without at least peeking in on my towns to make sure no one is thinking of moving out.

I go through periods of playing hours everyday for months to not playing at all when I'm busy with real life responsibilities or I get another game I'm really into. I can go 6 months of playing non-stop and not feel any burn out but past that it starts to feel like a burden rather than a "vacation" from real life. I always time travel to my last played date so no one moves out and everything's how I left it. I rarely play sporadically, it's usually all or nothing for me.

I have been playing every day since 2002 with very few exceptions. Illness, injury and once when I lost Merry, lol. But I have never faced burn-out.

It takes me 3 weeks, or a few months, or even longer depending if I like my villagers and I have nothing else to do besides playing the game. Sometimes I can't keep up in maintaining my town because I'm either busy, sick, or too unmotivated to do anything. The longest time I've keep on playing an AC game is for 8 months in New Leaf, and I've only stopped because I got so sick and tired of my villagers telling me that they're leaving everyday, my remaining decent villagers (Phoebe, Rolf, Mint... though I'm wrecked with guilt that I left Doc behind, sorry buddy) left me, I've rarely Streetpassed someone with an ACNL game to clear my villager void, no campers visiting, and the game began to stress me out instead of relaxing me. I wish in my current ACNL playthrough it won't be as stressful as it was before.

It depends. I usually burn out during the summer, for some reason. I hardly played this entire summer because I was just so bored of the game. I've been playing nearly every day since the end of August, but I feel like another burn out is coming especially since the snow is almost here. I tend to get bored of the winter months, since there isn't really anything to do.

I played NL for around two years straight, but now I get burned out often. I usually play for up to a week before taking a month long break. I'm hoping to change that...

Never had a burnout. The only times I've had to stop playing were when work got in the way. When that happens I might go four or five days without playing. The upside to that is; the grass has time to regrow.

I've got almost 1,500 hours on NL x'D
it has the top playage on my activity thing which is amusing

my first copy I did play it more when I first got it June 2013; I tried to play everyday or at different times so I can get all the bugs and fish and such but I did go through spells as time went on of not playing it
but I get into moods of really wanting to play certain games or when I go to play a game I'll try and pick one and think "that might but fun" or "eeeeeehhh maybe" if that makes sense
for awhile NL was and I had got reaaaal into playing it October-ish of last year, and found a old favorite villager Olivia was in boxes, and Isabelle didn't even tell me! I had found her like that! I raged slightly, finished a few villager quests, then saved and quit only to play again on Toy Day. Then go a big break from my first/main town til August this year? Could have been July but I'm not sure. I can say happily didn't have any other surprise boxed villagers; and in January I did get my second/cycle town I play it on and off since I TT on it. I do try and play it more often when I have villagers I have more in demand; that way I don't miss when they are ready to leave and can get them a happy home :D

I played almost every day from December last year to the beginning of August this year and then stopped playing entirely from mid-August until last week. I think I'll be playing for at least 2-3 months before I get burned out again, but I think I'll go at a slower pace this time. I have different goals this time and I'm able to see my town from a new perspective, so I feel pretty happy that I took a break.

Longest I've ever gone on Animal Crossing is a year and a few months... riiight before I got hired at my new job, lol.

I played from January to August until my first town was complete. Then I took a break for a few weeks because I was playing every day for a long time trying to finish it. I got a second cart from a friend afterwards so I started a second town. By then I knew you could choose your starting map and plot reset for dreamies (something I didn't know the first time) so it only took a week or so to get the layout exactly as I wanted. I played until a month ago doing landscaping and setting PWP's then I got burned out, probably from playing so much during the year. Also I wanted to take it at a much slower pace, so I will probably pick up again in another month.

I actually burned out 3 times already, first time was after playing for 4 months straight. Second time was after playing 4 months again and third time was after around a week or 2 of playing since nobody wanted to play with me. I get bored of Animal Crossing quickly when i don't have people to play with.

I played NL for the first 6 months straight and then life got hectic and things started happening so I stopped playing. I found that when I put my DS away then I was less likely to play. I got back into it last winter and played 3 months and then the same thing happened. I picked it up again in early October this year and I've been playing it every day since. With starting a new character it's also encouraged me to stick with it. I played my WW town every day for over a year, so I'm not sure why I didn't do the same with NL.

I wouldn't call it "burn out" as such because I didn't get sick of the game. It just seemed that whenever I got busy it took less priority.

I have the same problem. Sometimes i'll make a new game start it up and then leave it after i'm done playing, and not return for weeks on end. Until weeks later when I come back and delete it.
