How often do rare mystery islands spawn

So I went mystery island hopping for Murphy or Maddie. I didn’t find them, but I found Dobie with 30 tickets left and needed a cranky that actually fit the old man dialogue. That same island was also a shark island (I was in June). Tonight, I got scorpion island, trash island, and shark island for the first time and I’ve island hopped hundreds of times. It is possible I got them very early into the game and didn’t realize it, but I did not recognize any of these islands.

The hybrid island I've only gotten twice, I believe. I get the bamboo island pretty frequently though. I wish they would bring back Katrina and create some kind of luck system to improve your chances of getting a rare mystery island. Like maybe wearing a certain item improves your chances of getting a certain island, that'd be cool

I have never seen Tarantula island or Scorpion island since launch ;__; to be fair though a lot of my NMT is mainly used for island hopping.

Yeah I was so happy to get Dobie but then even happier to get a ton of new sharks for the museum/to store for whenever C.J. comes.

I have barely been to any rare islands, the rarest ones I've been on is money island a few times and trash island once. Never got tarantula or scorpion island with 600 hrs of game play. Although I haven't been NM Island hopping in a while, when I do, I usually burn through my tickets >___> still none

i've been lucky to get tarantula island, bamboo island (are they classified as the same ?) & hybrid island. but I honestly think it's because I barely use my NMT lol

I remember when the game came out there was a rumor that wearing DAL merch (the stuff they send you in the mail) increased the odds of rare islands, but I dunno if that was ever proven true or not.

I REMEMBER THIS ! Apparently it isn't on the game code so its "proven" to be debunked & apparently the percentage of getting the island that was listed as "rare" debunked it which I honestly didn't get? like bamboo island was 10% so technically if you were to get this island while wearing DAL merch it wasn't considered rare & was there final reasoning

ive never gotten tarantula/scorpion island, but I've gotten hybrid island three times and bamboo island like 3 or 4 times. im in the northern hemisphere and not time traveling so I dont know if ive gotten shark island. I also think ive been on around 20 mystery island tours total since launch.

I mean if it's not in the game code, that's one thing (I seriously remember people saying someone datamined it though ugh why is the search feature such a pain) but I'm not sure how that evidence debunks anything other than that the person testing it doesn't understand probability.
