I've cut it down to 4 normals: Melba, Lily, Lolly, and Maple. I really cannot narrow it down any further. Unless I take Bluebear over Maple, but I find the peppy personalities to be.. a lot. Dotty has it covered.

I really don't don't think I'll get sick of the repetitive dialogue, as normals are so sweet and their voices are so gentle. What's the most of one personality type you have on your island? Anyone else out there like me?

At the moment I have 5 lazy villagers trying to that them to move has been very hArd

Listen man, I have my fair share of duplicate personalities lol. I have 2 peppy, 3 lazy, and 2 normal. Ugh lmao.

I only try to keep 2-3 normal villagers because they are cute and I cannot resist their charm. Four is a bit too much for me. Also, I try to have both sub-personalities, if I can

As of right now I have three, I had four but felt like it was too much of the same personality so I let one go but I feel fine with three.

I know that feeling with the normals. At one point I had 3 normals, and 3 lazies. There are just too many cute villagers of each of those personality types. To be fair for normals too, their dialogue is one of the least repetitive in the game imo.

Recently though I've tried to limit myself to just 2 of each personality type and it has been good. I'm kind of cheating though as I still have Bob, who's my third lazy. Will likely switch him out fairly soon just to add some variety.

I can only tolerate two at most of any personality type (and their personality subtype must differ too). Any more than that and I start to get crazy because of the repetitive dialogue and such.

I tried for a while to have one of each personality and also balance out gender, but some Amiibo cards were easier to find than others plus some of my villagers often want to move and some don't. For a long while playing I let the game decide with random move ins and that was awful, I had 4 jocks at one point and it was too much.

As of now I have two peppies, two lazies, two jocks, one normal, one cranky and two smugs. So hardly balance at all.

More than two gets repetitive for me. I like my villagers to be as unique as possible. And only works with some personalities, I don't mind my two normals but another lazy feels like devaluing the one I already have.

Personally for me, 1 normal is more than enough. I find the normal personality type a bit bland and emotionless, and none of the villagers in it aside from coco really appeal to me design wise either, so overall I'd only really want one on my island and even that's mainly just to get the expressions. I do understand your love for normal villagers a bit though, as I had the same obsession except with cranky villagers before. I believe I had about 4 crankies all on my island at one point in time, because I just loved all of them and didn't want to let any of them go. However, i've know kind of grown out of that, and found that having a wide array of personalities on my island just makes my love for those 2 crankies even stronger, and I tend to prefer it this way now. I think it's a good idea to set a 2 villager cap on each personality type, unless you really need another certain one, in which case 3 is acceptable I guess.

More than 2 is too much. I really wished there was 10 personalities in the game... Or that sub-personalities were more strong to have a real difference in dialogues.

if you enjoy them keep them, unless you r trying to complete your emotes the island should be any combination you enjoy :)

I've got several smug's on my island so definately feel I have normal shortage.... well I have none. I did used to have some normal's but I didn't really think too much of them. For my next island hop i've gone through the whole list to narrow down a couple of normals I'd really like to take. There can be a lot repetition - all the smugs talk about is lip balm.... lol!

I originally had 5 normals >.< I do love them but iv managed to narrow it down to 2 so I can get at least 1 of each personality

3 was my max, they lived next to each other & couldn’t take it after a few months. the worst part of moving someone out was that they were so sweet to let go, but it’s whatever anyways at the end of the day they’d have the same dialog when they’ll move out. i just waited for which of them was the first to ask to move out (and i had a pic from) and i went from there. in the future i plan to only have 1 tbh. great designs mostly, but dialog gets too bland.

Three was too many for me. When I just had one, she was my favourite villager. Two, and I still loved them. Three, and suddenly all of them started to irritate me immensely. Even though I'm back down to two now, the love has never quite returned. Maybe it's time to go back down to one and have a proper break...

The only ones I can stomach more than one of are the cranky and peppy villagers. Although the peppies in this seem more repetitive than NL. So many normals are super cute though!
