How many scallops does it usually take you to find Pascal?

Usually 1 or 2 for me. If the net is there and he pops up behind it, he just dives under and pops up near you

I’ve always gotten him on my first scallop! The only time I didn’t was because my inventory was full. Emptied it then dove back in and got him on my next scallop.

It's usually 1 or 2 for me, but there were a few instances when it took me 3. Nothing more than that though. I'm almost complete with the mermaid set/clothing. Tbh, the annoying part is catching a scallop, whenever it takes time before I even get one.

He always shows up on the first scallop catch of the day for me. Even if I am near the net, he’ll pop underneath the net to initiate conversation, so it doesn’t matter if you’re far away or close to the net.

Make sure your gate isn’t opened when you search for scallops and Pascal won’t show up if you’re on someone else’s island (not too sure about the island tour thing).

Also, make sure your inventory isn’t full when you catch the scallop. You can always “X” to see how much inventory space you have left (even though you can’t empty). Once you’re near full, go back to shore to empty out before diving again.

If you catch when your inventory is full, Pascal won’t show up.

For my main and alts, it was the first scallop caught.
But then for my main yesterday, I caught 6 and he never showed up...

... can he show up more than once in a day (same character) to give you something?

He shows up on the first scallop most of the time. Then after 2 scallops. The max for me was 3.

But I've read somewhere that as long as you don't give him a scallop for the day, he'll keep showing up.

Since the update its only taken me 1 scallop for him to appear - he usually just gives me pearls though, I've gotten like 2 mermaid recipes from him
