How many people play "how the game is intended"?

In older AC games: Heck yeah, I TT'ed a ton. it was so hard to get a perfect town without doing so.

In New Leaf: I tried not to cheat with this one. I rarely ever TT (And I always set it back afterwards), I've never plot reset but frankly that's the reason I'm buying a second cartridge. I can't justify starting over with a completed shop, almost completed bug encyclopedia and 800+ hybrids, but I just can't make the town I have look pretty with Re-tail and all of my villager houses in horrible locations. I'll probably do tons of TT-ing and such on my second town.

I mostly play my town "how it was intended" I don't time travel or plot reset. I do use guides though, like for April Fool's Day and fashion checks, etc.

I have a very simple path in my town so I can redo it around a villagers house no matter where they place it. And I don't have any dreamies, I just let everyone move when they ask and look forward to meeting a new villager soon!

This is how I enjoy playing most, but I think I'm maybe in the minority?

No way! Just play how you want to :). TBT may seem like a judge glaring down at you as you play but it isn't!

I used to play day-by-day without resetting. Then I felt like I had reached a point at which I had accomplished what I wanted to in the game, and since then I've been a lot more open to TTing.

I don't plot reset. It'd be nice to stop animals from moving in bad spots but the problem is that my first town has 4 fully paid off houses and my second town has 4 houses, all at least half done when it comes to expanding so i don't want to throw away any of that work. Seems like w/ all the hype they had about being mayor, one could at least have the ability to approve of where an animal moves in at.

i do time travel. Well, technically the TT to catch up to current date method. I don't play much anymore and i don't want to just jump in real time since the game moves at such a slow pace so itd take forever for stuff like neighbor moving. I am currently In early October 2014.

I actually play this game normally. Although someone MAY have hacked Lolly into their town, and in boxes, so I could get her to move to my town.

My question is if TT (which I have not done yet) is not in the spirit of the game, then why was it added? They very easily could have removed that option, along with the option to run.

So is there really a "right" way to play, or is it in the eye of the beholder? At the end of the day, as long as you are having fun and enjoying yourself, then you are playing right.

It looks like most people don't TT. Interesting!! I haven't yet, but I might someday. I think what I really want to do is get a second cartridge so I can have my own town.

your own town? who does the first cartridge belong to? :P

I'm p sure the game does recognize TTing at least a little bit. I mean there's a title villagers will give you named ''Timetraveler'' And I'm p sure it refers to you changing the date often.

Me! The worst I'll do is move the time forward or backward a couple of hours to get something done, but I'll set it back right away. And I try to avoid doing that.

I plot reset my villagers so my town looks the neatest it can be. I only TT when I really want a villager gone or really want to unlock some new stuff.

I only TT'd twice tops to get rid of some villagers and to get my dreamies, and I didn't go too far into the future, but I have plot reset every time someone new was moving to town.

I just plot-reset when I know that a dreamie is moving into my town. As dreamies are supposed to stay in town for a pretty long time, I want them to be in good spots - spots where they don't ruin anything!

i've played the game in its' intended way for ten years now, so i decided to depart from it for a few ... years. mhmm...

both ways are just as fun, but in the end it comes down to how people want to play the game. if they want to time travel and plot reset and stuff, then let them. it doesn't hurt anybody, so yeah. :V

My main town I've just TTed one day when I found out holidays would be a problem. This way I celebrate with the villagers and than can celebrate with my family. I do change the time back if I'm late starting. I like start just before the 5pm mail arrives.

In my guest town I do TT. I keep it on the same date when I have high turnip prices or premium fruit days.
Time for friends to sell and for me to sell later. I also keep town frozen if I don't have time to play them. Pick up where I left off when I get time to play them.

I've been playing for almost 3 year. My plan for the guest town is to play April to the beginning of September. After that I plan on TTing ahead to April and repeat it.

I used to when I first played the game, but now I plot reset, time travel, and other good stuff.
