I had two plots ready to move in some dreamies but in the last several days random ppl moved in.:(
So I was just wondering how long it usually takes for a villager decide they want to move away.

From my experience, it's kind of random, but my last ones happened 4 to 5 days after the last move in!

It also helps to not talk to them. Introduce yourself, but after that just ignore them. In a weeks time or so they'll ping you or someone else will say they heard so and so is going to move.

ooooh! Thanks for the advice. I will do this for the next weeks.

Sorry to hear that random moved-ins derailed your plan for the two dreamies. -__-
If you got your unwanted new villagers via wifi trading or streetpass,
perhaps next time when you have any open slots, you would consider putting the town in 'lockdown mode' until you have securely invited the ones you wanted, and see their plots up. (meaning:no wifi trades, no one comes in/goes out, and you don't travel to other towns UNLESS it's to the towns where you wanted to invite your desired villagers in)

In case you are interested in more details on how to safely TT someone out,
and more info regarding villagers' moving rumors:
