I'm really lucky and have had two of my dreamies offered to me for free so I'm really excited to get them and don't want to keep these kind people waiting too long! However it seems to be taking ages for anyone to ask to move out - I only have a couple of dreamies so far so the majority of them can go whenever they're ready - but when?! Feel like no-one's asked in ages, the last was Bam being one of the few villagers I actually want to keep - been trying to make sure to speak to them every day but aside from TT which I don't do in this game is there any other way to speed this process up? Please and thanks!!

It takes 15 days for them to ask to move out with the speech bubble if you confirmed the villager is moving out while in conversation and it isn’t the villager you want to move restart the game and don’t talk to him for the rest of the day and the next day a different villager will have the speech bubble cos it’s on a cool down if you say please go or please don’t go

Information is from here

Yeah if you don't TT you're looking at around 2 weeks for a new villager to pull up a speech bubble. What you can do is if you see a speech bubble on someone you want to keep is to just NOT interact with them at all. If you talk to them and tell them to stay, then the cooldown resets and you have to wait again. It's important to note that this cooldown is global and shared across all villagers, not just that one villager. So when you told Bam to stay, you made it so you have to wait a while for any other villager to ask to move.
I've had my "thinking to leave" bubble cycle to a different villager the very next day after I simply ignored the other one. Since I just did a villager trade, I have an example, yesterday Cherry had a bubble and I simply ignored her. Today Dora had a bubble, so I talked to her and asked her to move. Worked out great!

Just to add to this, you may want to talk to the villager with the bubble because it might not be a move-out request, it might be them wanting to give you something. You can talk to the villager and confirm they want to move out, but if it's someone you want to keep, close the game without finishing the conversation so the bubble "resets" and is transferred to someone else the next day.

If one were to TT to get the thought bubble in the first place, can you go one day back and one day forward until you get it?
