How has your routine changed since the introduction of the patch and HHP? I find that I'm doing things I haven't done in months, such as digging up fossils. At first, I was against the Roost being in the museum, but it's actually nice having a reason to visit it again.

Old routine:
  • Log on
  • Check mail, maybe change outfit
  • Talk to my villagers, find who is crafting
  • Find seaside bottle, search for visiting NPC's
New routine:
  • Log on
  • Check mail, maybe change outfit
  • Hit rocks, dig up fossils
  • Talk to my villagers, find who is crafting
  • Find seaside bottle
  • Visit museum, have Blathers identify fossils
  • Visit Brewster for a cup of coffee
  • Go to airport, leave for work at HHP
  • Go to Harv's island, maybe get my fortune told, check various stands, have Cyrus customize my newly purchased items from HHP

Something like this

Old routine:
  • Money Rock
  • Fossils / Glowing Spot
  • Nook Stop
  • Talk to villagers
New routine:
  • Katrina/Fortune
  • Money Rock
  • Fossils / Glowing Spot
  • Coffee
  • Nook Stop
  • Kapp'n
  • HHP
  • Talk to villagers

My routine has changed since the update. It has added a lot to it .
old routine

maybe check mail
See who the NPC’s is
Water pumpkins
Find villagers to give gifts and see if anyone is crafting
Maybe decorate the island

new routine
Get a cup of coffee
Morning aerobics
Boat ride the Kapp’n
Check shops
Check with villagers to see who is crafting
Check on crops
Harv’s island to check shops and unlock new one
Get new hairstyle from Harriet
Go to work at resort island
Try to find new DIY’s

Here's what my routine had gotten to be before before 2.0 came out:

- Check mail
- Find DIY bottle and crafting villager
- Look for daily visitor
- Check camper if there is one
- Check Nook's Cranny and Able Sisters for new items
- Talk to and gift villagers if I feel like it

Now it's all of those things plus:

- Do the stretching (this will drop once I have all of the Nook Miles goals, this is incredibly boring to me)
- Buy a coffee
- Go to Kapp'n's daily island
- Water/pick my crops
- Dig up yesterday's gyroid and plant/water today's gyroid
- Go to Harv's island and do things
- Dig up spots in case any might be gyroids (I stopped doing this before once I got all fossils)
- Do all of the HHP dailies (get DIY bottle on beach, things from the facility staff members, buy the new Poki items)
- Design a few houses and/or facilities
- Make sure to gift any villagers that I still need their photo if Katrina gives me luck up on friendship

Since I already had plenty of DIYs and materials, my routine was usually "Check if Redd or any campers are here today and close the game if there are not."

Now I find myself running in circles trying to remember the things I still wanted to do, so yeah, I'd say it changed! There definitely are a lot more (and more interesting) daily tasks now, and I do like that a lot!

Old routine

- Check my mailbox
- Scour the beach for message bottle
- Check Nooks for new items
- Scour my villager neighbourhood to see who's in crafting
- Remove flowers if they've bred due to the rain

New routine

- Check my mailbox
- Scour the beach for a message bottle
- Have a coffee at Brewsters
- Water my crops/pick them if they're ready
- Scour my villager neighbourhood to see who's in crafting
- Check Nooks for new items
- Go on a mystery island tour via Kapp'n
- Come back and store new items in my storage
- Head to Harv's
- Head to work from Harv's island

honestly, it's mostly the same.

old routine
> check mail
> change outfit
> customize tools to match outfit
> lap the island (dig up fossils/gyroids, hit all rocks, find money spot + DIY bottle + crafter, pick up mushrooms, visit town hall)
> lap the island again (shake trees, take fossils to be assessed)
> visit nooks + ables
> talk to villagers

new routine
> check mail
> change outfit
> customize tools to match outfit
> lap the island (dig up fossils/gyroids, hit all rocks, find money spot + DIY bottle + crafter, pick up mushrooms, visit town hall)
> lap the island again (shake trees, take fossils to be assessed)
> visit nooks + ables
> visit kappn's island
> visit roost
> visit harv's
> talk to villagers

order of the new three varies. if i'm not too tired/bored, i'll try to make a HHP house, but i'm not keen on it.

Mine has changed a bit

old routine:
  • Try to skip isabelle
  • Check mail
  • Check shops
  • Check nook stop
  • Talk to some villagers and attend any bdays
  • maybe change my outfit
  • Get bored log out

  • new routine:
  • Listen to Isabelle’s announcements
  • Check mail
  • Visit npc
  • Get coffee
  • Talk to villagers
  • Dig up Gyroids/fossils
  • Have blathers assess fossils so I can sell them since my fossil section is complete
  • Pick and sell non native fruit
  • Money tree
  • Kappn island
  • Harvs
  • Work at HHP

It changed very very much because now I :

- Play the game again

Kidding aside, I have recently restarted my island because I already finished my previous one and completed everything so I stopped playing AC for a good while. A couple weeks before the direct I restarted and did the whole start of the game thing. Now my routine is :

- Get fortune from Katrina and check stocks in the RVs and buy what I don’t have
- Check my beach and neighbors for the morning DIY
- Get coffee
- Do stretching
- Go to Kappn islands
- Go to work and design one house (unless there are a lot of villagers there I want to design for then I do more than one house)
- Go back home and do some nook miles stuff that I can do
- Check my stores
- If its a brand new month and there are still creatures to be caught that I haven’t donated to the museum I go and hunt for them
- Log in for afternoon and evening DIYS

That’s pretty much it. I still haven’t decorated my island and my house fully because I’m not feeling much into it and I’m waiting to collect more items and techniques first from HHP so I can just do the decorating at once.

Its pretty much changed this is what I do on both on my islands:

1. Go to Harvs Island
2. Talk to Katrina to hear about what luck I will have
3. Talk to Wilbur to go to work
4. Return back to the island after earing 100,000 Poki
5. Do all of my daily Nook Mile Tasks
6. Get a coffee from the Roost
7. Go on a tour with Kapp'n
8. Cook a few things
9. Update the dream and call it a day.

Old routine:
  • Message bottle
  • Nook's Cranny
  • Able sisters
  • Check for villagers with DIYs
  • Money tree if I pass by
  • Redd
New routine:
  • (same as above)
  • Go on a tour with Kapp'n
  • Check and customize yesterday's Gyroid
  • Bury / water Gyroid fragment
  • Get coffee from Roost
  • Go to work and design 1-2 houses, check stock, get message bottle, chill at the Northern beach / visit vacation homes
  • Harv's Island, get new hairstyle, check Redd and others and then chill
  • Donate new art to museum
  • More coffee, talk to villagers inside café
  • Letters to friends with cool new items
Love how much more alive the game feels since the 2.0 update & DLC!

Old Routine:

- Complete dailies
- Dig up fossils
- Chop wood
- Hit rocks
- Nook Stop

New Routine:

- Morning stretch
- Complete dailies
- Dig up fossils
- Hit rocks
- Nook stop
- Kapp'n tour (I chop all my wood there now)
- Bury my gyroid fragment & dig up the one from the day before
- Go to work (I only design one or two houses at a time before returning home)
- And if I remember, I'll grab a cup of coffee from The Roost

This is a great question, btw!

My routine hasn’t changed too much yet but that’s because I’m taking the update slowly this time around compared to before the update. I’m sure that’ll change soon enough though!

Old Routine:

- Log in, mash out of Isabelle's message talking about how she once again lost a sock in the dryer.
- Check my phone for which NMT objectives are easiest.
- Search for fossils.
- Chop wood.
- Smack rocks.
- Check Nooklings.
- Log out.

New Routine:

- Log in, actually pay attention to what Isabelle says because she actually talks about who might be on your island for once.
- Check my phone for NMT objectives.
- Collect mushrooms/talk to villagers.
- Search for fossils/gyroids.
- Harvest produce if applicable, water them if not.
- Smack rocks.
- Check Nooklings/Ables.
- Store anything unnecessary and do the daily Kapp'n tour. Finish any NMT objectives I can there, raid and pillage the island for valuables/wood/minerals before leaving.
- Head on out to Harv's to see what's new before heading to work to do some remodeling at HHP.
- Buy some stuff at Lottie's, head back home.
- Bury Gyroid frags of the day, dig up previous ones.
- Check for crafting villagers.
- Grab some coffee at the Roost.
- Brainstorm new island decoration ideas.

Of course there are other things I do, but these are the main things I do, in almost this order.

i don’t think my routine has changed all that much, but i definitely have a lot more to do each day, and my daily playtime has increased by 2-3 hours. 😅

old routine

collect my daily weeds, tree branches and rock materials (and mushrooms in november)
find and hit my daily money rock
check to see what shells washed up on the beach

talk to all my villagers and give wrapped fruit/giant clams to the ones i need pics from
complete any villager favours
check the recycling bin
collect my daily bonus nook miles and check nook shopping
depending on which npc was visiting, i would either check to see what they were selling, commission a model from them, listen to a performance, buy turnips from them or ignore them lol sorry leif and label >_<
check the shops
complete some nook mile achievements

there are other things i do that vary day by day (trades, harvesting crops, etc), but these are the activities i did/do every day. :’)

It's too long to go into detail but I've been utilizing my 2nd character to get extra DIYs, gyroid fragments, and furniture. Then I do everything again using my main character.

My routine has drastically changed from basically doing nothing to "run around the island... twice!". I haven't even managed to work on my villager houses yet.

My route has changed a bit. I definitely go to Harvey's island every day now and stretch when I can. Currently just taking things slowly but will start to pick it up more once I have more time.

My current routine:

-Check mail
-Dig up and check out gyroids
-Find message in a bottle
-Find NPC
-Look for crafter/talk to villagers
-Check shops/talk to Sable
-Check Nook Stop and scan amiibo
-Dig up fossils/water flowers
-Identify fossil and get coffee
-Kapp'n boat tour
-Dive for scallop/ money
-Go to Harvs for new haircut
-Shake trees for fall crafting materials
-Farm balloons
