How do you prefer to fish?

Closing my eyes when fishing was such a treat, it works wonders for me, after all those anxious NL fishing years full of premature button-pressing.

i just read on my phone for a bit and then catch it when i feel the vibration. I haven't missed one since i made it more relaxed

The standard way. Sometimes I also have the sound off so do it just by sight.

usually i have my volume on low because i watch videos or other things while i'm playing so i'm mostly a vibration only type person. closing my eyes and waiting for it has worked so well for me because i'm just too trigger happy if i'm watching it.

I close my eyes and depend on sound and vibration. Helps to not click beforehand and lose a fish.

I do the listening too almost all of the time. I couldn't catch sharks without doing it for the life of me in New Leaf and it's just kind of an impulsive reaction now. It also helps me calm down and prevent me from pushing A (which I do otherwise, way too often).
Unfortunately I never got used to sneaking around bugs.

Not a problem. I use a monitor, but it has no speakers. I'm still too afraid to buy speakers because I'm not sure which ones would work while the Switch is docked. I haven't found a good enough answer on Google.

I always close my eyes when fishing. If I watch, I will mess up and that is a guarantee.

I'm a PLONKer as you put it. Relying on visuals alone or both video and audio tends to mess me up. I've gotten continuous streaks of successful fishing in the fishing tourney with just audio. Shame I got distracted after 99, so I never got that Nook Mile achievement.

i'll look at everything but my screen when i fish, i get an itchy trigger finger when it comes to fishing.

I play with sound on and keep the vibration on so I can tell if its a really big fish.
