How do you like May Day?

I liked it :) Just a very simple extra thing to do. I had fun and I actually do like the suitcase. Although I was hoping for more DIY but I'm still happy!

I'm really upset because mine glitched, basically unallowing me to progress. I researched a bit and im not the only one with the issue, but it basically prevents me from jumping in a downward direction on those one-tile pond things in the maze. I reset my game a few times, and also tried using the rescue service, but nothing worked.. :(( i was really looking forward to the event but I had to leave the island bc I had spent an hour trying to solve it and nothing worked.

I think most people complaining about the duration of the event (7 days) being long despite the maze lasting just around 30 minutes are missing the point.

Nintendo wouldn't make this minigame available for just one day in the whole year. Lots of people would miss the eve t if that was the case, so that's a good reason for them to make it available for a week.

Also, this is the same reason Bunny Day lasted so long, and that event had even more reasons to be like that (because you needed to find a reasonable amount of eggs and the recipes in the event's timespan).

I can already see them changing the way Toy Day works because of that, even if it's the only event besides New Year's celebration that they could legitimately not change and I wouldn't see a lot of people complaining.

To me, it was.. okay. I love the Rover's briefcase item that we got, but other than that it was pretty meh ;w; I'm personally not a huge fan of mazes, I just followed a YT tutorial so I could get the briefcase without messing up lol

That's alright though! I don't think all of the events need to be super big and exciting. As long as others enjoyed it that's all that matters :)

At first I didn't get Tom Nook to offer the ticket, but later on when I logged back into the game, he did. What a relief! I still don't know what the problem was, but I guess it doesn't matter.

Meanwhile my expectations had grown unreasonably huge since I thought I was missing some wonderful event. Turned out it was not all that great, although it was fun. Rover's briefcase is OK, but not amazing and I suppose 27,000 bells is not a whole lot. It was nice to see Rover but there wasn't much interaction. I really prefer daily life in Animal Crossing to mini-games but YMMV.

I actually really loved it! It was a unique premise for AC and was genuinely challenging plus the addition of Rover was lovely for fans of the older games <3 I do wish we’d be able to take multiple tours on different days but I understand why we wouldn’t as they probably wanted to test the waters and get a response before developing idea for the event, that being said I hope we get similar tours in the future with other NPCs! there’s so much room for new things and creativity with this idea

It's a cute event! Short and sweet. We get to see Rover and we get a new item. The maze was difficult enough to be challenging, but easy enough to complete without getting too frustrated. I liked the addition of the extra bell vouchers as a kind of 'challenge' to redeem.

I do wonder how it will be handled in future years; would a new item be offered as the yearly reward, and would the maze be changed in any way to offer a new challenge?

This is gonna sound so stupid but I almost cried when I talked to Rover lmao. He's one of my favorite NPC's besides Celeste and his dialogue was so cute and nostalgic feeling. The maze was a cute little break away from the normal Animal Crossing day as well, not too challenging but challenging enough!

I can understand that to an extent but I still don't see why it has to be an entire week. Bunny Day could've been a week and this event could've been 3 or 4 days and that'd still be plenty of time. It'd also be really nice if you could still do a different maze each day, even if there was no extra prize so people can't miss out on it, just so it doesn't feel like a one-day event. I'd love to play the maze again just to see Rover one more time but I can't despite the event lasting 6 more days :( Also, I can honestly see nintendo making Bunny Day a bit shorter next year because they saw the complaining about the 12-day duration. Even my dad only played every other day or so and still finished it early and thought the dialogue and the eggs were excessive.

Don’t understand why these events are so long when they can be easily completed in 30 minutes. That’s my only complaint. At least they don’t stop you from completing your duties like events did in New Leaf.

I believe the game devs have always intended the game to be played for short periods every day. But they also do not want players to miss an event when real life prevents them from checking on the game every single day. That's why events last beyond a day.

Back to the Topic: Personally, I enjoyed the May Day maze island! It's fun. I appreciate that the devs are giving us something more to do, than simply talking to Isabelle to get a special item (such as in previous games). They included a familiar face too, it's a nice surprise, and I liked that.

I've already given my input on the event lasting a week despite not being able to do the maze more than once, so here's something positive instead: I'm not big on mazes but I still liked playing through this one! Seeing Rover again was really nice and I prefer this over just talking to Isabelle and having her give me something and that being the "event". I hope Rover shows up again for some other event too and if not then hey, maybe he'll be here again next May Day! I missed him so badly lol.

I thought it was cute! It seems like it would be a fun challenge for younger players, as well.

The item you got at the end was actually pretty nice. Can't say much about the bell tickets, though lol.
