How do you know if you completed a museum section?

I know I finished the encyclopaedia pages but was so busy being excited about that, that I didn't notice any kind of acknowledgement from blathers as I handed the last bug and fish over. Is there supposed to be? And how can I tell a section if complete? I can tell my fossils are because there's no empty stands but it doesn't seem to work that way in the fish and bug exhibits, there don't seem to be any spaces??

I think the best way to find which bug or fish you're missing is to go to another town and look at their museum. Or just look at complete museums on YouTube, there should be lots there. You might have accidentally forgot to hand in some fish/bugs a while ago and that's why Blathers didn't say anything. It could be that because you handed in both the dialogue didn't happen, but I don't think that would be the case since Nintendo probably would have planned for that and programmed that into the game. Or maybe you are an button masher like me and just didn't really read some of the text when you were so excited about handing everything in? Either way though good luck finding and catching whichever ones you might be missing.
