How do I Fire Isabelle?

On multiple occasions, Isabelle had expressed that my village's residents said they were living on a landfill, what with my believing weeds can be part of a beautiful village and my choice to not pluck them. Get this: in an effort to rid the village of weeds, Isabelle spoke with Leif behind my back, begging for the landscape enthusiast's help. Long story short, Leif was outside. Away from her shop. Meaning I couldn't buy any new trees or flowers from her all day. Perhaps she'll be away from her shop so long as too many weeds remain in place.

I assume Isabelle is forcing me to get rid of the weeds, if I am to resume my village beautification. Needless to say, that bothered me. I went straight to the town hall to terminate her from service, but there's no option for that. Just the usual sweet Isabelle smile like she did nothing at all and town tune/town flag/citizen satisfaction stuff.

I thought I was the creative force behind this project. This dog is forcing her vision of the village upon me. I really want the weeds to stay put, and if she or any of the other animals don't like it, they can pack up and leave. If one of my closest workers is going to sabotage my vision, I'd rather cut the relationship before things get too dicey, even if they have the most adorable puppy-dog eyes. Anyone?

Agreed- it would be nice to be rid of Isabelle so you can actually pursue your envisionment. I wish I could. Her airheaded yet controlling personality always irritated me anyway. She was not the proper candidate for a job.

I wish I could hire Brewster as my assistant. He'd make coffee and never complain.

The thing is that the game itself sees weed is an sort of issue. Like, when you ask for your town status at the town hall, you will always get told this, as the game thinks that when you asking about your status, you want to reach the goal of having a perfect town status, so the game (or more like Isabelle) listing all the issues which you need to get rid off to get a said status. It's not really her fault, it's more like she is basically "forced" to tell you this. Same goes with Leif, the game automatically sends him out into your town once it has reached a certain amount of weed. Of course you can just ignore both and doing your own thing, if you like your town the way it is, then just stick with it. But to answer your question, no, you can't fire Isabelle, as frustrated as it may is.

So if the game sees weeds as an issue, and Isabelle 'is' the game, then it seems like Isabelle wasn't forced into sending for help with the weeds. It sounds like Isabelle is the one truly running the village and that my mayor status is merely an illusion that she and the rest of the villagers go along with (...which is something I've heard plenty of others say '.'). It was the game/Isabelle who sent Leif to eradicate my beautiful weeds, and I wish I could ignore this whole folly, but I have more trees and flowers that need planting, and as long as Isabelle keeps Leif outdoors, she is subverting my vision. (Unless you believe Isabelle really is a puppet whose strings are being pulled by the game, and by extension, Nintendo. Fire Nintendo?)

She seems pretty intent on forcing my hand. *Sigh* if only I could eradicate her along with the weeds.

She is the secretary you cannot fire.. In all seriousness if Isabelle isn’t hiring Lief everyday couldn’t you improvise and do things that doesn’t require Lief to be in her shop when Isabelle hires her?

You can fire Isabelle in 4 ways:

1: Restart the town and never play New Leaf again.

2: Play an old Animal Crossing game that doesn't have Isabelle.

3: Don't restart your town and just never play New Leaf.

4: Buy New Horizons that's coming out very soon. Yes, she's in the game, but she's not a nuisance.

You triggered a sort of hidden event. You can get neat plant themed event furniture if either you or someone else pulls the weeds for Leif.

You're right, this is a good opportunity to improvise. I suppose I could either take fruit from my village's trees to make more trees and wait for flowers to naturally appear, or go to Tortimer's Island to get fruit and flowers to plant back in my village, but:

1) I'm trying to be selective of which of my village's trees bear fruit. I don't want my village overrun by it
2) It seems awfully cost-inefficient both to pay 1000 bells to get a few flowers which may not even be the right color and to wait for the flowers to appear in my village.

Maybe I'm not far enough in the game yet, but are there any relatively fast, effective ways of getting lots of flowers of a specific color, or is Leif my best bet?

you can breed flowers by putting them together and watering them there is a whole guide to which colors to put together to get a certain color.

You can't fire Isabelle but you can send her to the campsite using her Amiibo figure.

I'm done with PWP and try to scan her amiibo figure so she gets a vacation.
