There's a tourist spot in Japan called Rabbit Island where only bunnies live so I went with Usagi. I wanted to have an all rabbit island but I grew attached to other villagers.

I just reset and my new name for my island is Seychelles based off of an actual island lol
Since we have to share an island, I already had a name in mind, but I let my brother have some input as well. He couldn't think of a different name and didn't want to just sit around not sure what to call it so we went with Einstök, which is my favorite beer.

Well mine is based off both an oc and a country I made up. Saboria is the neighbouring country of Siberia. It's an anarchist country and person who loves chaos and beans and wants to rule the world with beans. :3
I made that flag for someone back in New Leaf. I don't know if they chose that name for their island. Probably not since I don't think it was possible to put 10 letters in your town names in the past.

I wanted a pun per Animal Crossing tradition of bad puns and my other hobby is crochet. So Yarn Isle worked out pretty well.
I couldn’t think of anything and was super close to naming it after my dog but I asked my bf and he simply said “Wonderland” and I was like sold! Lol it’s funny because a few weeks later my sister got the game and I went to visit her Island I saw she named it after my dog

I was torn about getting New Horizons at all, because New Leaf took over my life for several years, and while I enjoyed it, it also made me feel a lot of stress, trying to make everything just right. So, when I decided to get New Horizons, I wanted to choose an island name to remind me to be relaxed and chill and not try to make it "perfect."
And I think clouds are peaceful, and they're always "right" no matter what shape they are, since they're always changing and always beautiful. And "haven" sounded like a peaceful, safe place to be. So my island is Cloudhaven.

I just went on a name generator and that's how I picked my name
i chose pachira for a couple of reasons!
1. it sounds sweet and comforting
2. my bestie chose saguaro as their island name and its sweet to be matchy
3. the pachira aquatica is one of my favorite plants and was such a pretty item in NL (yes, i was really upset to learn it wasn't in NH lol)
4. i had an initial design to terraform a large leaf structure in the middle of the island, tho i have since moved on a bit from that and am adapting it
5. as this is an island game, a tree name with aquatica seemed just the right combination
6. pachira aquatica is also known as the money tree!!! so this is a PUN, A DELIGHTFUL FUN PUN

I went with Nyan as it basically means 'meow' in Japanese. It can be nya, or variations of nya/nyan. As to why I chose it? I love all things cats and all things Japanese, also, it was nice and short. =^.^=
