Holiday greetings

I really don't care... I don't like it when people say Merry Christmas in the first place unless it really IS Christmas.... people start saying the like Dec. 1st xD

But this is a pet peeve of my Grandmas actually, she doesn't realize how rude it is, but if someone says "Happy Holidays" to her, she stares at them for 2 seconds with all seriousness, and says "Merry Christmas to you too"

If someone says happy holidays to me, I do the same as I would if someone said Merry Christmas, I'd say you too or nod, it's easier when you don't worry about being politically correct.

My grandma does that very same thing..

I just wanted to bring this up because you barely ever hear a Jewish person say to a Christian Happy Hanukkah. It's just that usually Christians are egotistical, no offense.
I'm Christian too. But I just don't think it's polite to go up to somebody that is obviously Jewish and say Merry Christmas. It's like if you don't celebrate our holiday your going to hell.

It doesn't matter what you say really. I was just arguing that there's no problem if someone says Merry Christmas. No one should care about that.

I really don't think it should matter what is said.... I have always been more of a "hey how's it going" kinda guy anyway and don't normally go into holiday greeting except for on the holiday and only if it is one I celebrate. I do say happy holidays sometimes too I suppose, there are 2 that I celebrate over winter break (o yeah, I call it winter break...BECAUSE IT IS WINTER!) Anyway I think it is as much about how it is said as it is what is said. If someone was very forcefully saying merry Christmas to people who don't want to hear, that is absolutely wrong, but if you just say it to someone you know I don't think it should matter that much if you meant well.

"Right or Wrong: Do you think stores should be able to say 'Merry Christmas' or should they stick to 'Happy Holidays'."

I thought they should stick to Happy Holidays, but one guy had the nerve to say that store employees should say Merry Christmas(This isn't that part that bothers me, he's entitled to his own opinion) but what really pisses me off is that he said, " This is America, get with it." I was thinking this is guy is the dumbest person I've ever seen. People came here so they could celebrate there own holidays, not so they could take up ours.

I was just curious; what do you think?

I think that Fox News is by far the worst place to get your news. Not only do you get the poor excuse for journalism typical of cable news, you also get an overdose of radical conservatism and sensationalist politics. Fox News might as well just be a part of the Republican party, it practically is the Republican Channel. And when Tony Snow was appointed Press Secretary, it just sealed the deal between the two. Now he's out, fortunately, but I don't really trust the new one (not that I trusted Snow either).

Christ I hate Fox. And Bill Donahue.

Oh, and they should say "happy holidays", not everyone celebrates Christmas. However, it is the company's choice, not the government or Fox.

I don't even know who Olberman or Matthews are. And Alan Colmes is only there so Fox can maintain it's totally untrue "fair and balanced" image.
