Herb or "erb"?

i've never heard the 'h' pronounced unless it's a man's name, or if somebody's emphasizing the 'h' because they're making it clear they mean marijuana.

The word "herb" is not of English origin. This is the first i've heard that the Brits go around pronouncing the 'h.' I suppose across the pond they've decided to pronounce the 'h' in "honest," and in "hours" as well, lmao.

Compare to how you ordinarily don't hear Brits pronounce the 'h' in words like "he's," "his," "have," or "here," and it's little wonder they decided to get the 'ell out of the EU in an 'urry, 'ey! :p

Uhhh what lmao everyone here says he's / his / have with a h xD tf

my accent (UK derbyshire) often involves the dropping of h at the start of a word, so i say 'erb' mostly

I pronounce the h, but every time I do people look at me funny and inform me that the h is silent, making the word erb. Idc. I still pronounce it with the h.

Oh English and your silent letters. How I hate you.

haha- i think it's mostly for words adopted from old French...

Even though I live in America, I pronounce it as "Herb" I get told all the time that I'm pronouncing it wrong.

Since I'm learning English, I'd say "Herb" and I don't see why the H would be silent... :o

I always pronounced it with in h, and still will. In HHD, Dora wanted an herb garden. Not a herb garden. That got me so confused, until I heard someone say it the erb way.

I say herb. I find it weird that the American pronunciation is "erb." I've never heard anyone around me pronounce it that way.

I pronounce it as "erb". I never thought about someone pronouncing it as "herb", but that's fine as well.
