I just posted a thread about wanting to reset my town and a lot of people have advised me to change up my town a little bit but it feels like a lost cause.

There are some areas I do like e.g round my lake, round the windmill/cafe and in front of my train station, but I don't really like the other areas, but there doesn't seem to be a good way to change them :/

So I was just wondering if anyone would mind visiting via dream address and giving me their opinions? Hopefully it would help - if you let me know what you would do with certain areas etc.

DA: 7100-4301-2836

I'll try to give something back to anyone who does e.g TBT bells or something

The important thing to remember is this is a game. It's not a super serious life changing decision. You can always get back what you had in your old town. If you are truly displeased with it, use this opportunity to create an even better town!

Yeah.. I'm good at taking things waaay too seriously lol I get worked up over the little details

I visited your town. I'm taking pictures of where you could put PWPs to make it look more extravagant. :D Give me a couple minutes to edit them.

Place a bench here instead of the lamp pole.

Same thing with the other side.
*You might need to move them closer to the path in case of the right bench being too close to the river, but try it this way first

Maybe a zen garden/wisteria trellis could be of use here (blue). If you prefer, you could do two statue fountains on either side (yellow).

Add some streetlamps or maybe a tulip topiary if it fits next to the bridge.

Same with the other side.

Replace the bushes with illuminated trees and put illuminated arches/trees (whichever fits, but arches look nice) around the illuminated heart to create some sort of illuminated park.

Streetlamps would look nice here.

Oh and here is a website for space requirements for PWPs: click

Your town is amazing, I would never have the patience to lay down all of those paths.
At this point there isn't much more room for any more PWPs. Maybe south of your house you could have a hammock, and maybe something around Molly's (my #1 or 2 favorite animal) house. I would be hesitant restart a town with the Wii U version probably going to be announced before the end of this year. If you don't own a Wii U, buy a new copy of the game. The town is to amazing to reset.

Thank you so much, that was really helpful! I love those ideas :D

I just visited your town and I'd be happy to share some suggestions (please don't send me TBT though, I don't really use them) c: But first just remember that there's nothing wrong with resetting. If you honestly feel like your town is a lost cause and you'd be happier with a new one, go for it. People rarely regret resetting, and you might find a town that you're happier with. In my opinion that is one of the things that's so great about this game: if you're unhappy/bored, you can just reset and have fun starting over again! And like Mairen said, it is just game. It's not like you'd be resetting your real life haha (that would be nice sometimes though)

First of all I just want to say that you have a really nice map. I like the uniqueness of your river, and your town hall, retail and plaza have great placement in my opinion. I also really like your town name, it's pretty :3

Are all of your villagers permanent/dreamies? One of the ways you could mix things up a bit is by switching your villagers around if you're okay with that. You could maybe even try allowing random move-ins. With random move-ins/outs sometimes you get villagers that suck, but sometimes you get great ones and their houses are in nice spots and you have an amazing feeling that's even more satisfying than when you buy/trade for a villager on here. You feel like you got super lucky and the randomness of it is really fun sometimes. Not everyone likes to do that though. It's just a suggestion if you want things to become more interesting or spontaneous in your town.
You could also try changing your paths up. How long have you had the ones you're using? Do you want to keep them like that? There's tons of great path options out there that you could play around with. You could even try natural paths. I think they're gorgeous. (they're hard to keep up when the snow falls though, since it makes the grass grow back quicker)

Personally, here are some things I would do if I had your town (or if I restarted my own town and had a fresh start):
I would try natural paths! I've wanted to try them for a while but I never have. They can be incredibly pretty
Change up the villagers
I would move the bridges (and therefore also the paths) around. I don't think you need that middle bridge, it feels unnecessary to me. I'd try placing it either in front of the cafe (you might have to move Buck out) or in front of your house. Then I'd move another one of the bridges so that it's diagonal behind Shari's house in that little bit that sticks out. Diagonal bridges look nice in my opinion and they would work with natural paths. They're also more unique since most people don't want to or are unable to use diagonal bridges with path patterns
I'd try to pick some sort of theme to go with (forest, zen, fairy tail, pink/pastel, etc.) and design the town with that in mind.
I'd move out the villagers on the left side of town and make a sort of long, pretty pathway leading down to your house in that narrowish stretch of land there. Maybe sorta foresty with lots of trees, bushes, bamboo, flowers, etc. And some pretty wisteria trellises or flower arches to walk through would look nice. They're my favorite PWPs ^^
This sort of ties in with theme, but I'd choose a color palette that I want to go with and stick with that throughout the whole town to give it a sense of unity (I'm speaking in regards to flowers). Some that look nice to me are purple/white, pink/white and orange/red/yellow flowers. Or just flowers in the same shade, like just cool colors or just warm colors. The wisteria trellis looks great with purple flowers while the flower arches look great with pink flowers. A pink/purple color palette could work nice
I'd center the fountain so that it's in front of the station instead of off to the right.
I'd upgrade your house fully (or semi-fully) and have fun decorating it!

Also, I would recommend checking out some dream addresses for inspiration. Some I recommend are North (7900-3285-6095 ), Cit?lune (4800-2245-2005), and Jaipur (4570-8297-3798)

Good luck and I hope you have fun! That's the most important thing. And don't be afraid to reset if you really want to :D

Thanks Dewy for the detailed response! My town has changed a little bit since that dream address. I've always had natural dirt paths (i love them!) but I tried that brick path just for a change - it went about two weeks ago, didn't last long!

Not all of those villagers are dreamies so about 5 of them will be moving out when they ask :) Sadly, even with Buck gone, I can't place a bridge there :( but I really like the idea of a diagonal bridge!

I'm not a huge fan of the pink or purple flowers, but tonight I've mixed my flowers so I have specific colours in different areas so they aren't all everywhere - it did look a bit manic!

As for my house, I'm torn about upgrading, I think it's the one thing I absolutely love about my town. I had a big house in my last town but I don't like enough sets to fill it and it just stressed me out, having one room that changes with the seasons feels cosy and manageable :)

Thank you so much for visiting, I really appreciate it! You've been a great help ^^
